DigitalGlobe… • Collect the best commercial satellite images of the earth in the world - At 30-50 cm resolution with exceptional positional accuracy - Up to 16 bands of V/NIR and SWIR spectral data + image-enhancing CAVIS - 90+ PB of imagery back to 1999, 70 TB of new imagery collected each day • Provides offline imagery and online subscriptions via DG Cloud • GBDx Platform for exploiting full spectral imagery + OS + 3rd party data • Provides adjacent imagery and data processing options - / GeoHive crowdsourcing - Vricon Data Suite - elevation products

…in order to… • Create and maintain a digital inventory of the surface of the Earth

…to then... • Host results in schema-less index for rapid discovery and delivery or deliver imagery offline • Provide multi-INT, predictive analysis to answer specific customer questions

Product Horizontal Vertical Maximum depth Accuracy Type resolution resolution 20-30m in very clear water RMS of 10-15% of actual over bright bottom depth over sand or bright sediments ~15m over sea grass/algae Water depth 2m 0.1m in clear water RMS of 15%-25% of actual depth over sea grass, algae

Errors vary with turbidity 20-30m for clear water Water Water 2m Visual assessment only quality column 5m for turbid water 20m over sand Bottom type Can distinguish sediments, 2m N/A classification sea grass, and coral/algae 15m over sea grass/algae Turn-around time is about 5 days after the image has been captured

14 Shallow water studies from WV2/WV3

• WV2 & WV3 can provide key environmental features: – Bathymetry (depth of oceans, lakes, rivers) – Bottom classification (sea grass, algae, sand, coral, mud, etc. – Water type (plankton, CDOM, suspended matter) • Coverage – Surface down to approx. 30 meters, in clear and calm waters • Shallower and less accurate mapping in turbid waters – Effective in mid-latitude, sub and tropical clear waters • High latitude are feasible but at lower accuracy • Technology differentiation – Less accurate than LIDAR and Multi-Beam Sonar sounding – Advantage: Continuous, global, spatial and temporal coverage at a smaller cost
