“There are only four people knew what the Beatles were about. Nobody else was in that car with us- just the four of us in the back laughing hysterically. You’ll never know how much I really love you. You’ll never know how much I really care.

Somebody said to me, ‘But the Beatles were anti-materialistic.’ That’s a huge myth. John and I literally used to sit down and say, ‘Now, let’s write a swimming pool.’ ”

“We reckoned we could make it because there were four of us. None at us would’ve made it alone, because Paul wasn’t quite strong enough, I didn’t have enough girl-appeal, Why don’t we do it in the road? Why don’t we do it in the road? Why don’t we do it in the road? No one will be watching us George was too quiet, and Ringo was the drummer. But we thought that everyone would be able to dig at least one of us, and that’s how it turned out.”

“We were honest with each other and we were honest about the music. The music was positive. It was positive in love. They did write - we all wrote - about other things, but the basic Beatles message was Love. You never give me your money You only give me your funny paper And in the middle of negotiations You break down The Beatles were just four guys that loved each other. That’s all they’ll ever be.”

“I don’t think the Beatles were that good. I think they’re fine, you know. Ringo’s got the best backbeat I’ve ever heard... Paul is a fine bass player... but he’s a bit overpowering at times. And in my hour of darkness She is standing right in front of me Speaking words of wisdom Let it be People say I’m the Beatle who changed the most, but to me, that’s what life’s about.”
