Orientation on Gender Base Training An orientation-training course was conducted on „Gender‟ data for official use and interests of the users. It requires technical understanding of the conceptual frameworks and methods used in official statistics as the policy- makers and researchers are always interested to get sex-disaggregated data necessary for analysis and social development of the country. ● Preparation of twenty-nine Community level draft reports on „Population and Housing Census 2011‟ are almost completed. On the other hand, twenty-two Zila reports out of 64 districts have been done about 75%. Only Barguna Zila report is fully completed for printing;

] ● Twenty Zila reports are being prepared by BBS officials and data tables of remaining districts are in progress using the CSpro-Format;

● Among 5 National Reports, „Union Statistics Report‟ has been prepared & sent to RDP for printing. Trussing of „Urban Area Report‟ has been completed & ready for printing and the draft report of „Analytical Report on Population and Housing Census 2011‟ is being prepared;

● Remaining two other national reports namely, “Socio-economic & Demographic Report” is being reviewed and the preparation of “Administrative Repot” will be started soon after completion of these reports;

● A training programme on „Editing of Census Data for Arc GIS Mapping‟ was held at BBS HQs for three days;

● Three day orientation programme on Gender was launched by BBS during 23-25 September 2014;

● An evaluation meeting was held on recommendations received from the seven workshops carried out on Geo-codes in 7 administrative divisions;

● A report on „Bangladesh Poverty Maps (Zila & Upazila level estimates 2010)‟ and „61 Zila Profile‟ have been uploaded in the BBS Website;

● Data entry of „SVRS 2012‟ for the months of January to June/2012 under Tafshil 3-10 for 23 regions and July to December/2012 for 8 regions are completed and data entry for 12 regions is in progress;

● In ICT Lab, training on ‟Balance of Payment and International Trade in Goods Statistics‟ was provided to 7 BBS officers & 17 staff. The programme was organized by National Accounting Wing. Another training course on Database „Design and Application in Library‟ was conducted in the Lab;

Demography and Health Wing:

● Data editing, coding, matching of filled-in schedules collected from field level & data submission of MSVSB-2013 schedules are going on;

● Preparation of the draft report on „SVRS -2012‟ is under process;

● The report on „Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) 2012-13‟ under AWP 2014-16 is being prepared and the 3rd Phase of Monitoring the Situation of Children and Women (MSCW) Project has come to end on 30 June 2014;

● The report on 12th Round PEC of „Food Security Nutritional Surveillance Component (FS-NSC) Project‟ has been published and the 13th Round PEC report is in progress;

● Data editing, coding and data entry of the 1st Phase under the 14th Round PEC is going on and the training on the PEC 1st phase under the 15th Round has been provided to Regional Coordinators, Supervisors and Enumerators duly;

● „Health and Morbidity Status 2012‟ and „Gender Statistics 2012‟ reports have been published;

● Filled-in questionnaires on „Health and Morbidity Status Survey 2014‟ collected from field level have been edited and coded. Presently, screen data entry is going on;

● Data editing, submission in computers and analysis of 12th round PEC survey has been completed and field activities of 13th round (1st phase) PEC is just completed in this quarter;

● The draft questionnaire on „Education Household Survey 2014‟ had been finalized and printed with the consultation & approval of the Technical Committee. Meanwhile, training was provided to Regional Coordinators, District Coordinators, Supervisors and Enumerators and data were collected during 13-16 September 2014. At present, data editing of the filled-in questionnaires collected from fields are in progress

Industry and Labour Wing:

● Data on LFS-Child Labour Survey 2013 have been edited & coded and Technical Committee meeting was held on Tabulation Plan;

● Report on Survey on Manufacturing Industries (SMI) has been completed and is under the process of printing;

● The report on „Business Register (BR)‟ is prepared for printing;

● The listing of „Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Institution Census 2014‟ has been completed;

National Accounting Wing:

● Both the final reports on „Annual GDP Accounting 2012-13‟ and „Provisional GDP Accounting 2013-14‟ have been approved;

● Revising GDP with the new base year of 2005-06‟ has been approved. The „National Accounting Statistics‟ with detailed methodology on the new rebasing has been approved and will be published soon;

● On the basis on “Mid Term Budgetary Frame (MTBF) assistance, NAW has conducted 6 surveys and five reports have been published. The report on Tourism Survey 2011-12 is under the process of publication;

● After compilation of data for the „Revised Revenue Budget‟ and „Central Budget Estimate for the years of 2012-13 and 2013- 14, the classification of economic and functional coding has been completed. The preparatory process on budgetary data collection for the FY 2014-15 is going on;

●Expenditure based GDP rebasing has been approved. Publishing the „National Accounts Statistics‟ with detailed methodology is under printing;

● Monthly Quantum Index of Industrial Production (QIP) Large for the month of May/14 is completed and the index preparation of QIP for June-/14 is in progress;

● Monthly Release of IPS for the month of April/14 has been published and for May/14 is in progress;

● Editing, posting and estimation of average values and collection of wage data on 5 categories of schedules for the month of September/13 have been completed;

● The preparation of 3rd quarter of Producer Price Index (PPI) 2014-15 is in progress;

● Editing, posting and average estimation of collected data through five types of schedules on values and wages are in progressing;

● Indexing of construction materials for the month of July/14 for 6 divisions respectively Dhaka, , Rajshahi, Khulna, Sylhet and is completed;

● House rent Indexing for this quarter (July-September 2013-14) is completed and wage rate indexing for the same quarter (July-September 2014) has been completed;

● Data on imports & exports collected from the National Board of Revenue (NBR) for the months of July-August 2014 are being collected;

● The report on „Foreign Trade Statistics of Bangladesh 2012-13‟ is under the process of publication;
