NHL DEPTH

CHARTSWith Game 1 of the Final taking place tonight in Chicago, it’s a perfect time to post this month’s update of the NHL Depth Charts. There has been some “off-” movement already, as the Black- hawks, despite being busy with their run for Stanley’s Cup, have signed Finnish superstar to an entry-level contract. The Jets lost pending UFA to the KHL, the Flames lost pending UFA Danny Taylor to the Swedish Elite League, and the Islanders decided not to toll ’ contract, making him a full-fledged UFA. There was also some significant movement in the coaching realm, as retired, the Avalanche hired Francois Allaire, Pierre Groulx was not brought back, and stepped down. That will open JUNE 26, 2013 up some doors heading into the NHL Draft, which takes place June 30!

ANAHEIM DUCKS CONSULTANT: Pete Peeters

& 2-12-82 6-2, 190 Pete Peeters announced his retirement on June 5, so the door opened for " 8-08-82 6-0, 198 the Ducks to hire Dwayne Roloson on June 10 as the new Goaltending & 10-02-89 6-4, 245 Consultant. No word on if they will hire an assistant to work in Norfolk. Either way, Anaheim remains as one of the top teams in terms of goaltending depth. ( Igor Bobkov 1-02-91 6-4, 192 John Gibson blew everyone away with his performance in the 2013 World R Marco Cousineau 11-09-89 6-0, 195 Championships, helping Team USA earn a Gold Medal. The big question is N John Gibson 7-14-93 6-3, 205 how much he’ll play in the AHL, because he’s definitely turning pro.

BOSTON BRUINS COACH:

R 3-10-87 6-3, 169 Rask has been electric for the Bruins in the Stanley Cup , getting U 5-07-86 5-11, 203 more and more comfortable as the days roll along. He is now 12-4-1 with a & 9-04-89 6-2, 176 1.75 GAA and .943 SV% (1st overall) in the post-season. Khudobin has not Michael Hutchinson 3-02-90 6-3, 185 been called upon to appear in the playoffs. Svedberg went 6-6 in the AHL R playoffs with a 3.29 GAA and .889 SV%, which was sub-par considering he & 12-21-93 6-1, 187 was the AHL Goaltender of the Year as a rookie. Lars Volden’s rights were & Zane Gothberg 8-20-92 6-1, 180 not retained by the June 6 deadline, so he re-enters the draft and likely " Adam Morrison 2-09-91 6-3, 194 becomes a free agent in July. This is good news for Zane Gothberg’s future.

BUFFALO SABRES COACHES: Jim Corsi, Bob Janosz

N 7-17-80 6-2, 175 Eyes continue to focus on Miller’s whereabouts this summer, as he could be & 6-25-88 5-10, 166 potential trade bait heading into July. Enroth says he is ready for a starting U 7-31-84 5-11, 179 gig and proved himself in the World Championships by leading to a Gold Medal. He posted a 1.15 GAA and .956 SV% in seven games, R 3-07-90 6-2, 179 including two and a shootout win in the semifinals. Leggio is likely " Connor Knapp 5-01-90 6-5, 215 to hit free agency without a deal, while Hackett will have a chance to be the " 8-08-91 6-5, 192 starter in Rochester next season. That puts Knapp and Lieuwen in the same N Andrey Makarov 4-20-93 6-1, 193 place they were last summer -- fighting for an AHL spot. Makarov is eligible " Linus Ullmark 7-31-93 6-3, 198 to be an over-ager, so he could steal that backup role to Hackett as well.

CALGARY FLAMES COACHES: Clint Malarchuk, Jordan Sigalet

N 10-26-76 6-1, 185 Still no word on a potential decision from Kiprusoff regarding retirement. ( Joey MacDonald 2-07-80 6-0, 197 MacDonald will play a role with the Flames next season, but now that word N Karri Ramo 7-01-86 6-3, 207 is trickling through that Calgary has indeed signed Karri Ramo to a deal, it’s 1-03-87 6-4, 200 unclear if Joey will have any chance of playing in the NHL. Many believe & Berra is a lock for a backup spot after posting a 1.00 GAA and .967 SV% in U 4-11-88 6-0, 177 four games for in the World Championships. There will forever " Joni Ortio 4-16-91 6-1, 183 be questions surrounding Leland Irving, but will he want to hang around for & 3-23-93 6-3, 200 another year without a legit NHL role? Ortio is still developing in . & Jon Gillies 1-22-94 6-5, 215 Brossoit could turn pro next season, thus making Irving even more obsolete.

CAROLINA HURRICANES COACH: Greg Stefan h 2-29-84 6-1, 185 It may be time for the Hurricanes to add a second goalie coach to their staff, U 6-19-80 6-1, 191 as not only is this a big summer for Cam Ward, but there is a need for the ( Justin Peters 8-30-86 6-1, 205 organization to begin developing from within. That’s not to say Justin Peters Mike Murphy 1-15-89 5-11, 161 can’t evolve into a starting goalie, but his progress has been slower than U expected. Mike Murphy is a relatively unknown entity moving forward as R John Muse 8-01-88 5-11, 175 well, as it’s unclear if the club wants him back or not. Muse is an RFA but has & Daniel Altshuller 7-24-94 6-2, 175 no upside beyond the AHL in my opinion. Altshuller and Olson have bright " Collin Olson 4-04-94 6-3, 196 futures with solid windows of opportunity in their respective leagues.

CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS COACHES: Stephane Waite, Andrew Allen

& 12-31-84 6-2, 208 Crawford has the edge on Rask in the GAA department (1.74 to 1.75) but his U 9-28-82 6-2, 196 save percentage is a tad weaker at .935 (compared to .943). So while Rask may have the edge heading into the , there’s no debating N Antti Raanta 5-12-89 6-0, 187 that Corey has been a stalwart for the Blackhawks. Chicago also made a U 12-19-85 6-1, 210 huge splash when they announced the signing of the best UFA Euro goalie U Alec Richards 6-29-87 6-4, 210 available in Antti Raanta. The Finnish stud won every award imaginable in ( Kent Simpson 3-26-92 6-3, 200 the SM- this season, and then posted a 2.09 GAA and .927 SV% in & Mac Carruth 3-25-92 6-3, 182 seven games in the World Championships. This means , Carter Hutton, and Alec Richards are all likely headed out, which comes as & Brandon Whitney 5-11-94 6-5, 192 no real surprise. If the Hawks also choose to part ways with Emery, expect a " Matt Tomkins 6-19-94 6-2, 174 veteran UFA to sign as the #3 guy, just to provide insurance behind Raanta.

COLORADO AVALANCHE CONSULTANT: Francois Allaire

& 4-27-88 6-2, 209 With the hiring of and his subsequent hiring of Francois Allaire & J-S Giguere 5-16-77 6-1, 202 as the new goalie consultant (part-time), the Avalanche organization has 4-15-92 6-1, 208 essentially gone from being a goalie graveyard to a goalie gold mine. The & influence of Allaire could be exactly what Varlamov needs to learn to trust & 8-06-92 6-1, 172 his positioning and not get caught being overly aggressive. Giguere will & Kent Patterson 9-15-89 6-1, 195 finish out his career surrounded by two highly influential goalie guys, and the & Kieran Millan 8-31-89 6-0, 190 future of Pickard, Aittokallio, and the two college grads is better than ever.

COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS COACHES: Ian Clark, Mike Buckley

R 9-20-88 6-2, 190 All eyes are on Bobrovsky as he works towards a new contract with Columbus. U 5-19-81 6-3, 186 He’ll be enticed by big money in the KHL, but it’s expected that he will sign & Curtis McElhinney 5-23-83 6-2, 197 long-term in the NHL. Curtis McElhinney was rewarded for his outstanding season in Springfield with a new one-year, one-way NHL contract. That is R 6-17-89 6-4, 185 great news for Allen York, who has waited patiently for two full seasons in R Patrick Killeen 4-15-90 6-4, 204 order to be a regular contributor in the AHL. It’s unclear if Killeen will return & Anton Forsberg 11-27-92 6-2, 176 as the backup in the AHL, but at this he’s nearly added depth while the ( 2-28-94 6-2, 187 Blue Jackets await the arrival of Anton Forsberg, who will spend this season ( 4-28-94 6-2, 168 playing in Sweden for MODO. Dansk, Korpisalo, and Ouellette play in three " Martin Ouellette 12-30-91 6-1, 160 different countries...and only one will probably pan out.

DALLAS STARS COACH: Mike Valley

& 11-16-83 6-4, 200 The Stars re-signed Nilstorp to a one-year, two-way deal on June 17, R Richard Bachman 7-25-87 5-11, 175 so he will have another chance to establish an NHL career. Mike Valley Cristopher Nilstorp 2-16-84 6-3, 192 has been so good in his role, he not only remains as the team’s goalie & coach, he was given a new three-year contract. That’s great news for Kari & Jack Campbell 1-09-92 6-1, 171 Lehtonen and whoever ends up backing him up next season. Campbell will R Tyler Beskorowany 4-28-90 6-5, 204 continue to slowly evolve in the AHL, while the Stars must decide to renew ( Maxime Lagace 1-12-93 6-1, 176 Beskorowany’s contract. The did re-sign Josh Robinson to " Henri Kiviahlo 2-26-94 6-3, 183 another two-way AHL/ECHL deal, so he is added depth omitted from this list.

DETROIT RED WINGS COACHES: Jim Bedard,

& 3-26-84 6-0, 218 Howard was excellent for the Red Wings in the playoffs, going 7-7-2 with a ( 10-24-84 6-3, 192 2.44 GAA and .924 SV%, along with a 28-save against the Hawks Petr Mrazek 2-14-92 6-1, 187 in Game 3 of the second round. Gustavsson did not play in the post-season N and has seen his stock fall further due to injuries and a lack of playing time. R Tom McCollum 12-07-89 6-2, 215 Mrazek continues to shine in the AHL playoffs, as he won the first two games U Jordan Pearce 10-10-86 6-1, 201 of the Calder Trophy Finals against Syracuse by stopping 58 of 63 shots. " Jared Coreau 4-15-90 6-4, 204 McCollum is likely to return, but Pearce could be done with pro hockey. That " Jake Paterson 5-03-94 6-2, 183 gives Coreau a chance to turn pro and play in the ECHL.

EDMONTON OILERS COACHES: Frederic Chabot, Sylvain Rodrigue

" 5-04-86 6-5, 210 The Oilers spent a second-round pick on Samu Perhonen in the 2011 NHL U 1-13-73 6-1, 208 Draft, but opted to release his rights, which was not a good sign of their U 6-21-81 6-0, 187 recent goalie development. They did, however, sign Frans Tuohimaa to an " 7-12-91 6-0, 165 entry-level contract, although he should remain in Finland for at least another season. They also improved their development framework by adding Sylvain R Niko Hovinen 3-16-88 6-7, 200 Rodrigue to their staff as a Euro goalie scout. This was a great move by ( 2-11-92 6-1, 196 the organization and will give them an edge on other teams in the league, & Frans Tuohimaa 8-19-91 6-2, 179 especially with the European goalie craze reaching a new high.

FLORIDA PANTHERS COACH: Robb Tallas

U Jose Theodore 9-13-76 5-11, 172 The Panthers have a ton of questions in right now, starting all the way at R Jacob Markstrom 1-31-90 6-6, 195 the top with Jose Theodore and falling all the way to the bottom with Brittain ( 7-23-77 6-2, 201 and Gayduchenko. Will they bring back the aging veteran, or will they part ways with him and allow Clemmensen and Markstrom to carry the team? U Dov Grumet-Morris 2-28-82 6-2, 205 Knowing Markstrom is an RFA, how many games will he be expected to & Michael Houser 9-13-92 6-2, 192 play next season? What do they do down in San Antonio? Is Houser ready U Brian Foster 2-04-87 6-2, 186 to be a full-time starter in the AHL, or does the organization need to bring in ( Sam Brittain 5-10-92 6-3, 215 a veteran with more experience? Brittain should have no problem being the " Sergei Gayduchenko 6-06-89 6-5, 227 starter next season, but how will DU compete without Gwozdecky as coach?

LOS ANGELES KINGS COACHES: , Kim Dillabaugh

& 1-21-86 6-1, 214 The Kings acquired , , and a second-round pick Ben Scrivens 9-11-86 6-2, 192 from in exchange for . Scrivens goes from being a " backup behind a fringe starter to backing up one of the best goalies in the R Martin Jones 1-10-90 6-4, 185 NHL. Long-term, this gives Scrivens to continue developing as a backup, but & J-F Berube 7-13-91 6-1, 170 short-term, his playing time is likely projected to be reduced behind Quick.

MINNESOTA WILD COACH: Bob Mason

& Niklas Backstrom 2-13-78 5-11, 189 *The Wild re-signed Backstrom to a three-year deal on June 24 after they " 6-18-84 6-1, 197 missed out on Bernier and Raanta. Harding, meanwhile, continues to battle U Jeff Deslauriers 5-14-84 6-4, 200 MS with a resolve to be a legit contributor next season. Deslauriers would make a great #3 in Iowa (new AHL affiliate), but the Wild may want to clear " 5-05-90 6-4, 212 the path for to head overseas, while also giving Kuemper N Johan Gustafsson 2-28-92 6-2, 203 a much bigger role and workload. Endras is finally an UFA and will be playing U Dennis Endras 7-14-85 6-0, 167 in Germany again next season. I believe the Wild are seeking an assistant ( Steve Michalek 8-06-93 6-2, 183 goalie coach, but it’s unclear who fills the role.

MONTREAL CANADIENS COACHES: Pierre Groulx,

( 8-16-87 6-3, 219 ’s goaltending was a focal point in early-June when the Canadiens " 9-18-82 6-1, 200 decided to part ways with goalie coach Pierre Groulx. That caused Canucks goalie coach Rolie Melanson to have some choice words regarding Price’s R 9-16-89 6-0, 194 performance over the past few years, which I feel were overblown. A possible R Robert Mayer 10-09-89 6-1, 199 replacement for Groulx is Eli Wilson, but that’s sheer speculation on my " Peter Delmas 2-16-90 6-2, 190 behalf. Budaj is entrenched as the backup and it’s unclear where Mayer will " Mike Condon 4-27-90 6-2, 195 end up since he signed to play in Switzerland.

NASHVILLE PREDATORS COACHES: Mitch Korn, Ben Vanderklok h 11-03-82 6-5, 207 Beyond their entrenched elite starter, Nashville has decisions to make in U Chris Mason 4-20-76 6-0, 198 their depth chart. Rinne had successful off-season hip surgery, which he is U Jeremy Smith 4-13-89 6-0, 180 currently recovering from. He’s headed back to Finland in mid-June to train and visit with family. Mason is an UFA and could still be re-signed to fill a role N 4-04-91 6-5, 196 he’s very comfortable filling. Hellberg could very well leapfrog Smith after an & Marek Mazanec 7-18-91 6-2, 185 excellent second half and playoff performance. Mazanec is now signed, so R 11-29-89 6-3, 214 could play in the ECHL. *Smith will not be tended a qualifying offer and will " Atte Engren 2-19-88 6-1, 185 become an unrestricted free agent on July 5th.

NEW JERSEY DEVILS COACHES: , Jacques Caron

( 5-6-72 6-2, 220 The Devils will continue to ride the oldest tandem in the NHL with Martin ( 5-3-73 6-0, 190 Brodeur and Johan Hedberg next season. Their feeble and fragile depth is 7-04-89 6-3, 190 in dire need of an upgrade, and they’ll certainly have a chance to add some R solid talent during the NHL Draft at the end of the month. Keith Kinkaid is U 5-13-87 6-0, 195 expected to return, while Jeff Frazee has offers to play in Europe. Scott ( Scott Wedgewood 8-14-92 6-1, 192 Wedgewood makes a great fit for the AHL, while Clermont is stuck in limbo ( Maxime Clermont 12-31-91 6-1, 193 and likely playing in the ECHL once again.

NEW YORK ISLANDERS COACHES: , Steve Valiquette

U 7-25-75 6-0, 202 The Islanders opted not to toll Tim Thomas’ contract, so he is a legit free R Kevin Poulin 4-12-90 6-2, 210 agent now. They seem to be kicking around the idea of re-signing Evgeni Rick DiPietro 9-19-81 6-0, 185 Nabokov, which I feel is a good idea if they can get some established and ( consistent support behind him. I am not sure if Kevin Poulin can provide that " Anders Nilsson 3-19-90 6-5, 220 type of support right now, but a strong off-season could push him over the " 7-18-88 6-7, 192 edge into a full-time NHL backup. Nilsson will need another full AHL season " Cody Rosen 9-27-90 5-11, 180 after missing a lot of time last year with a vitamin B-12 deficiency illness.

NEW YORK RANGERS COACH: Benoit Allaire

" 3-02-82 6-1, 188 Lundqvist was stellar in the once again, going 5-7-3 8-15-77 6-2, 186 with a 2.14 GAA and .934 SV%, along with two shutouts. Both he and Biron " will make another solid tandem next season. Talbot will have an even bigger " Cameron Talbot 7-05-87 6-3, 200 role with the club since he’s under a new contract as he tries to establish " Jason Missiaen 4-25-90 6-8, 220 himself as Lundqvist’s backup for the 2014-15 season. Missiaen continues " Scott Stajcer 6-14-91 6-2, 195 to develop and Stajcer is coming along nicely despite being in the ECHL.

OTTAWA SENATORS COACH: Rick Wamsley

" Craig Anderson 5-21-81 6-2, 180 Craig Anderson finished the Stanley Cup playoffs with a 3.01 GAA and .918 " 7-24-91 6-3, 220 SV%, giving up six goals in each of the last two games against the Penguins. Robin Lehner gained some valuable experience by appearing in two playoff U Nathan Lawson 9-29-83 6-2, 196 games against Pittsburgh, stopping 23 of 25 shots. Lawson went 0-3 with a " Chris Driedger 5-18-94 6-2, 190 .905 SV% in a first-round AHL playoffs series loss, so he’s out the door on " Francois Brassard 1-31-94 6-1, 160 July 1. Andrew Hammond will fill a role in the AHL next season, but Driedger " Andrew Hammond 2-11-88 6-3, 190 and Brassard are expected to return to their respective junior teams.

PHILADELPHIA FLYERS COACH:

U 6-22-80 6-3, 213 Things could obviously still change, but when the Flyers acquired Mark Streit & 5-29-88 6-4, 217 from the Islanders on 6/12, it added more fuel to the Bryz buyout fire. Mason 1-02-77 6-2, 198 could take over the #1 role next season, or he’ll be platooned with another U veteran. Boucher is an UFA in July and could still find a home elsewhere, or " Cal Heeter 11-02-88 6-4, 175 retire due to injuries. Stolarz posted just a 4.50 GAA and .872 SV% in the " Jakub Kovar 7-19-88 6-0, 201 Tournament. The Flyers added Antero Niittymaki to their staff ( 1-20-94 6-6, 220 as a European scout, but it is not exclusive to goaltending.

PHOENIX COYOTES COACHES: , Mike Minard

U Mike Smith 3-22-82 6-4, 215 With so much speculation surrounding the ownership issues in Phoenix, it’s U Jason LaBarbera 1-18-80 6-3, 230 unclear how they proceed with their goaltending. Smith and LaBarbera will Chad Johnson 6-10-86 6-3, 195 be UFA’s in a few more weeks, so if things don’t get resolved soon, they U could be in a world of hurt. Johnson is another one of those AHL/NHL fringe " 8-07-92 6-2, 205 goalies, but his success in limited NHL action gives him an edge. My guess " 10-05-90 6-1, 190 is he returns to Portland. Visentin will look to play more games in the AHL " 3-06-92 6-3, 180 this season and build on a decent rookie year. Lee and Domingue make " Marek Langhamer 7-22-94 6-1, 181 great added depth for a team with an excellent two-goalie-coach system.

PITTSBURGH PENGUINS COACHES: Gilles Meloche, Mike Bales

( Marc-Andre Fleury 11-28-84 6-2, 180 For a second straight year, Marc-Andre Fleury was terrible in the Stanley & Tomas Vokoun 7-02-76 6-1, 210 Cup Playoffs. He went 2-2-0 in five games with a 3.52 GAA and .883 SV%. ( 6-09-87 6-3, 170 That prompted Tomas Vokoun to take over the crease, and he went 6-5-2 3-19-86 5-11, 175 with a 2.01 GAA and .933 SV% in 11 games, which was a great story for U a veteran that has battled through a lot of adversity in his career. Fleury’s R Eric Hartzell 5-28-89 6-4, 188 struggles may have prompted Gilles Meloche to resign as the goalie coach, ( Alex Pechurski 6-05-90 6-0, 187 but he’s now staying with the Penguins as a scout. Ironically, the baby Pens " Matthew Murray 5-25-94 6-3, 159 used both of their goalies in the playoffs as well, as Brad Thiessen posted " Sean Maguire 2-02-93 6-2, 201 a 1.38 GAA and .952 SV% after Jeff Zatkoff struggled in the second round.

SAN JOSE SHARKS COACH: Wayne Thomas, Corey Schwab

& 8-29-83 6-2, 210 Antti Niemi was a stud in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, posting a 1.87 GAA and U 1-29-86 6-1, 210 .930 SV% in 11 games before finally bowing out to the Kings. Greiss is an 7-28-87 6-0, 180 UFA with some starter upside, but may not have played enough this season U (head/neck injury) to attract more than a few NHL teams. Still, I think he finds R Harri Sateri 12-29-89 6-1, 190 a home for next season and beyond. Stalock will also be an UFA next month R Thomas Heemskerk 4-11-90 6-0, 182 and to me, that could mean one of two things -- either he re-signs to back " J.P. Anderson 4-27-92 6-0, 195 up Niemi, or he leaves and Sateri becomes the starter in Worcester. From R 8-27-89 6-1, 190 there, we’ll finally know where Heemskerk, Anderson and Grosenick land.

ST. LOUIS BLUES COACHES: Corey Hirsch,

" 4-09-85 6-3, 204 The Blues signed Niklas Lundstrom to an ELC back on May 21, but expect " Jaroslav Halak 5-13-85 5-11, 182 him to spend at least the next 1-2 seasons in Sweden with AIK. He went just 8-07-90 6-2, 200 3-9-0 with a 3.10 GAA and .901 SV% in the Elitserien, so there’s a lot of work R still to be done. Elliott and Halak will once again be the tandem next season, U Mike McKenna 4-11-83 6-3, 195 but the Blues could look to trade one now that Jake Allen has established R Paul Karpowich 10-25-88 6-2, 192 himself as a legit NHL backup. McKenna once again provided a team with & 7-11-93 6-2, 169 solid AHL depth and is left without a contract heading into July. Binnington is & Niklas Lundstrom 1-10-93 6-2, 179 eligible to turn pro or go back to Owen Sound as an over-ager. Karpowich is " Francois Tremblay 8-29-94 6-2, 200 the seemingly weak link in an otherwise solid depth chart.

TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING COACHES: Frantz Jean, Leo Luongo

" Anders Lindback 5-03-88 6-6, 210 Leo Luongo went over to Switzerland to be a goalie coach for Lugano’s " 11-21-86 6-7, 214 system (NLA, Elite Jr. A, and Elite Novizen). It’s also unclear if Frantz Jean U 1-09-78 6-1, 198 will return as the team’s goalie coach. Lindback and Bishop will make up the Cedrick Desjardins 9-30-85 6-0, 192 largest tandem in the NHL, but one of the most inexperienced. Desjardins U is currently fighting Mrazek in the AHL Finals, but is down 0-2 heading & Riku Helenius 3-03-88 6-2, 201 into Game 3. Still, he’s 11-3-0 with a 2.16 GAA and .908 SV%, including & Jaroslav Janus 9-21-89 6-0, 192 three shutouts. Helenius will have one last crack at establishing his NHL R Pat Nagle 9-21-87 6-2, 169 upside next season, and will likely be paired with Janus, who is coming off a " Adam Wilcox 11-26-92 6-2, 172 breakout season in the KHL. Nagle is added depth in the ECHL. Vasilevski is & Andrei Vasilevski 7-25-94 6-3, 210 not hindered by the new CHL Euro Goalie ban since he was already drafted.

TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS COACHES: Rick St. Croix, Jean-Ian Filiatrault

& 3-15-88 6-2, 208 The Maple Leafs acquired Jonathan Bernier on June 23 and part of the R Jonathan Bernier 8-07-88 5-11, 186 deal sent Bent Scrivens to LA. I like this move from strictly a competitive # Drew MacIntyre 6-24-83 6-1, 190 standpoint because it forces Bernier and Reimer to earn their starts. Bernier is out to prove he’s a legit starter that can play a ton of games and Reimer R Jussi Rynnas 5-22-87 6-5, 212 is now out to prove he can keep the starting role that he worked so hard R Mark Owuya 7-18-89 6-2, 198 to earn. Another question is whether or not Owuya is retained, or if Sparks & 6-28-93 6-2, 204 heads to the AHL. *MacIntyre signed a one-year, two-way deal on June 13.

VANCOUVER CANUCKS COACHES: Rolie Melanson,

" 3-18-86 6-2, 195 The Canucks have let Jonathan Iilahti and now David Honzik go in 4-04-79 6-3, 217 subsequent years without retaining their rights, so expect them to draft at N least one goaltender this summer. This is especially true if they are finally " Eddie Lack 1-05-88 6-5, 213 ready to part ways with Luongo, who continues to stay patient and bide # Joacim Eriksson 4-09-90 6-2, 189 his time while he awaits a trade. *The Canucks signed coveted Swedish & Joe Cannata 1-02-90 6-1, 200 prospect Eriksson on Monday, June 17 to a two-year entry-level-contract.

WASHINGTON CAPITALS COACHES: Dave Prior, Olaf Kolzig

" 9-16-89 6-2, 203 Holtby lost a seven-game series to the Rangers in the first round of the " 3-23-88 6-1, 209 Stanley Cup Playoffs and finished with a 2.22 GAA and .922 SV%. Even 9-02-80 6-4, 202 though he struggled in Game 7 (five goals allowed on 27 shots), he had U a very good season and finished 4th in wins with 23. Neuvirth has some & Philipp Grubauer 11-25-91 6-0, 180 stability now that he is signed to a new two-year contract. Sabourin is likely h Sergey Kostenko 9-17-92 5-11, 191 to be headed elsewhere since Grubauer has established himself as a full- " Brandon Anderson 7-13-92 6-1, 193 time AHL goaltender. The question is focused on who will back him up.

WINNIPEG JETS COACH: Wade Flaherty

" Ondrej Pavelec 8-31-87 6-3, 220 Pavelec finished the regular season with a 21-20-3 record, a 2.80 GAA, and U 2-13-85 6-2, 203 a .905 SV%. He played in 44 games (1st), faced the 2nd-most shots (1,132) R Ed Pasquale 11-21-90 6-3, 220 and logged the third-most minutes (2,553). His workload must be reduced R Chris Carrozzi 3-03-90 6-2, 185 slightly in order to avoid burnout and sloppy play when it matters most. That being said, Montoya is likely not the answer moving forward, while Dekanich N Juho Olkinuora 11-04-90 6-2, 200 is now gone due to a new contract in the KHL. Pasquale and Carrozzi need " 5-19-93 6-4, 185 new deals and neither are ready for the NHL. Olkinuora has a chance to " Jason Kasdorf 5-18-92 6-4, 179 claim a spot in the AHL, while the three college boys -- Hellebuyck, Kasdorf, " Jamie Phillips 3-24-93 6-1, 170 and Phillips -- will continue to ply their trade and slowly develop in the NCAA.
