Dover town nestles under the shadow of its magnificent castle. The busy port boasts some wonderful hidden gems. Dover Museum and the Bronze Age Boat Gallery, sits behind the old Market Hall facade. Just up from Market Square is the Roman Painted House - a fine example of a Roman house in Britain.

If you need a break from history and fancy a bit of retail shopping then you must visit De Bradelei Wharf. It’s right beside the yacht marina and close to the seafront with plenty of easy parking. There is also a weekly Tuesday market in the town offering a large range of items including local and French produce.

Once all the sight-seeing has built up your appetite, you could try one of the many restaurants, cafés and pubs in the town. Then walk it all off with a stroll along the newly refurbished seafront promenade.
