2020 Wildfires

From January 2020 to early December 2020 there were 52,934 wildfires and about 9.5 million acres were burned.

Over 2,000 fires raged in Oregon, burning more than 1,000,000 acres of land and destroyed thousands of homes.

The intensity of the fires has been increased due to drying and heating from human- induced climate change, as well as poor forest management.

The damages are expected to reach $100 billion in losses this year.
