Application of Washington , ) Application No. 323 Virginia and Maryland Coach ) Company to Add Route 6-L. ) Docket No. 89

The Washington, Virginia and Maryland Coach Company, (W.V. & M.), filed an application on April 28, 1965, requesting authority to add Route 6-L. This route is to provide transit service to that portion of Virginia Highway 236 between the and the City of Fairfax. The route will originate at Fairfax City and terminate at the Pentagon Building and will have transfer points with other routes destined for Washington and points in Virginia. The following is a detailed description of the route:

Eastbound - From the Fairfax City Fringe Parking Lot, west on (29-211), south on Walnut Street, east on Main Street and Little River Turnpike (Va. 236), north on Capital Beltway (495), east on Arlington Boulevard (U.S. 50), Washington Boulevard (Va. 237), and Columbia Pike (Va. 244), to the Pentagon Road network, thence over Pentagon roadways to the Pentagon Building.

Westbound - From the Pentagon Building over Pentagon Roadways to Columbia Pike, thence westerly on Columbia Pike (VA. 244), Washington Boulevard (Va. 237), and Arlington Boule- vard (U.S. 50), south on Capital Beltway (495), west on Little River Turnpike and Main Street (Va. 236), north on Walnut Street and east on Lee Highway (29-211), to the Fairfax City Fringe Parking Lot.

Application has also been filed with the Virginia State Corpora- tion Commission for authority to operate on this route. The Attorney of Record in this matter is Manuel J. Davis, 1629 K Street , N.W., Washington, D. C.

The Commission is of the opinion that a public hearing is required in this matter.

THEREFORE , IT IS ORDERED:

1. That this matter be , and it is hereby, set for hearing on Monday, June 7, 1965, at 9:30 A.M., at the offices of the Commission, 1815 North Fort Myer Drive, Arlington, Virginia.

2. That the applicant publish notice of the application and hearing in a newspaper of general circulation in the Washington Metropoli- tan District once, at least twenty-five ( 25) days prior to said June 7, 1965.

3. That any person desiring to protest this application shall do so in writing, to the Commission , with a copy to the Attorney of Record, at least ten (10) days prior to said June 7, 1965.
