Welcome to IBRP Kingaroy Speedway Welcome Competitors, Officials & Race Fans, On Behalf of the South Burnett Speedway Club, I’d sincerely like to welcome you to the Ian Boettcher Race Parts / Adam Holt Industries 2019 Speedway Sedans Australian National Modified Sedan Title. This will be the first time that Kingaroy has hosted the SSA National Title for Modified Sedans are we can’t wait to bring you all the action. This will be the second SSA National Title our venue has hosted after hosting the 2017 Australian Street Stock Title. We must also acknowledge the wonderful opportunity our club gets to host two national titles this weekend, with the Modlites hosting their Australian Title across the next two days. At the time of writing a staggering 99 Modified Sedan nominations and 37 Modlites have been received and the club is humbled and honoured to have so many drivers from across the country want to support the South Burnett Speedway Club and the Kingaroy venue. I personally would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has travelled such a large distance to compete in this event. When you can attract such an amazing field of drivers to an event, you know the action is going to be phenomenal all weekend. From current champions, to former state and national title winners this is going to be one heck of a weekend. Our hard working team is very passionate about speedway in particular SSA sedans and look forward to making this another huge success for everyone involved. We’d also like to sincerely thank our major sponsor Ian Boettcher Race Parts along with Adam Holt Industries for their support of this event and for continuing to back our venue. Without all of your contributions, we wouldn’t be able to put this weekend together so thank you again for your support. We’d like to also thank Speedway Sedan Australia for backing us and giving us the opportunity to host this event as it has been something our club has aspired to for many years. If it is your first time here, welcome to Kingaroy and please enjoy your stay. If you need to know anything or have query or concern, please ask any of the hard working club volunteers that we have, as we are very willing to assist where we can. The National Modified Sedan Title is always a highlight of the Speedway Sedans Australia calendar, providing some of the best racing the Country has to offer, as was highly evident at last year’s National Title, and if we get a finish anything like that again, who knows what might happen. Congratulations to everyone here at the IBRP Kingaroy Speedway who will be hosting one of the best fields ever assembled for a National Modified Sedan Title. With all events a lot of work goes into them, with a National Title, the work load is much greater as the host venue tries to make the National Title the best it can be. Thankyou to the hard working Committee who have been working tirelessly on this title since the initial announcement eighteen months ago. At close of nominations there were 99 entries, with the field including a staggering 14 drivers who have won a National Title, while 24 drivers in the field that have won over 60 titles between them. I would like to pay tribute to each and every driver who is taking part in the title, whether you live here in Kingaroy, or whether you have travelled from Margaret River in the West, or from Hobart in Tasmania, thankyou for making the effort to take part in this event, which promises to be one hell of a race meeting. Current National Champion, Cam Waters heads the line-up, and we are so lucky to someone like Cam as our National Champion. Last years National Title, will be one to be forgotten in quite a while, with a great event from beginning to end, and the racing was first class, and there is no doubt it will be elbows up and out here at the Showgrounds. We continue to break new ground with this Title, it not only is Live Streamed but will also have the Giant Screen for the fans here at the venue. Speedway Sedans Australia would also like to acknowledge the fans, who week in week out, support Sedan racing around the Country. Without your support, events like this would not be possible. I would also like to acknowledge the officials for this event, who have come from all parts of Australia for this event as well. Thank you for giving up your time to be a part of this event. This is our final National Title of the season, with next years titles now decided, with the Modified Sedan Title heading to Carrick in March 2020. The Junior Sedan Title will head to Collie in Western Australia, the Super Sedans will be heading to Borderline Speedway in Mt Gambier, the Street Stock Title will be held at Latrobe, Tasmania, while the Production Sedan Title will be held at the Ellenbrook Speedway. • 25 November 2008 RE: Media Summary Saturday 15 No
TO: NZRL Staff, Districts and Affiliates and Board FROM: Cushla Dawson DATE: 25 November 2008 RE: Media Summary Saturday 15 November to Tuesday 25 November 2008 Kiwis are content to polish the silverware: KEEP your opinions to yourselves and we will keep the World Cup. The message from across the ditch was yesterday loud and clear following revelations Ricky Stuart will be investigated for verbally abusing referee Ashley Klein the morning after the Kangaroos' disastrous defeat. New Zealand Rugby League general manager Peter Cordtz said New Zealanders were too busy enjoying the historic victory and the prestigious silverware to worry about the controversy whipped up in Australia or Stuart's opinions. Stuart to be investigated over abuse claims: Australian coach Ricky Stuart will be formally investigated following a complaint he abused World Cup referee Ashley Klein and a top England official after Saturday night's shock World Cup final loss to New Zealand. Rugby League International Federation chairman Colin Love confirmed the RLIF would follow-up on a complaint from England's director of referees Stuart Cummings that he and Klein were abused by Stuart in the foyer of the team's Brisbane hotel the morning after the Kiwis downed the Kangaroos 34-20. The real loss for Rugby League: I'll declare from the outset that I'm from an AFL state, Victoria. ....and while we support Melbourne Storm to the hilt, the focus here is very much on the AFL. It borders on being an obsession. But you don't have to have too much of the Rugby League smarts about you to know a bunch of sore losers when you see them.
