Best Kept Don and Mary Ann Scholten— Committee Chairpersons Best Kept Single-Family Award—Elaine and Tom Gervasi, 3767 Surrey Lane

Congratulations to this month’s Best Kept photos by Don and Mary Ann Scholten single-family home winners, Elaine and Tom Gervasi at 3767 Surrey Lane. Pictured with the Gervasis (ABOVE) is Laurie Teachout, a Best Kept committee member who helped plant the Best Kept sign. Several small beds of triple Pygmy Palms surrounded by miniature flowering plants set off this attractive yard. One small bed has a lovely blooming Magnolia tree. Planted at the base of this tree is a mass of red and white Impatiens. All beds are edged with concrete perimeters, which extend along the sides and the back of this home. Red Ixora plants and Society Garlic plants with lavender flowers are planted along the front of the house. A flower box with red Geraniums and Dusty Miller plants enhance two small arch-shaped windows. Allamanda bushes with yellow trumpet flowers add more color. Red mulch in all the beds contrast with the soft green of the house and green Best Kept Condominium Entrance—Penshurst Park tile roof. The windows are edged in white. Along each side of the garage door, there are two large pots of Crown of Thorn Photo (BELOW) by Mary Jo Gord plants. The mailbox even has a concrete perimeter and an Ixora plant. All in all, this landscape is very tastefully done. Penshurst Park is the winner of the condominium entrance for May. The new signs are a very attractive addition. Several well-trimmed shrubs form the border around the sign. Three very tall palms anchor the entrance along with two red flowering Jatropha or Peregriner bushes and several Allamanda bushes with yellow trumpet flowers. Pictured at the entrance (MIDDLE) with the BEST KEPT sign are Karen Duffy, landscape chairman for Penshurst Park, and Nancy Meyers, who is in charge of the entrances for Penshurst Park.
