SYSMEX CORPORATION holds scientific seminars in ASIA every year. This year, 2001, the 1st Sysmex Scientific Seminar was held in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) and Philippines (Manila). In Malaysia, the seminar was held as one of the events of AAMLS (Asia Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists Congress). The 4th annual Sysmex Hematology Seminar was held at three cities in China. At each seminar, academic themes were presented. Our purpose at these seminars is to contribute to the advancement of medical technology and provide solutions to prob- lems in the clinical laboratories. All speakers gave excellent lectures with useful and current information. All seminars received good evaluations. In each seminar participants had so many questions that we went beyond the scheduled time. Next year, our seminar in China will be the 5th anniversary, so we will have a special memorial seminar. We gratefully acknowledge and thank all participants, speakers, chairpersons and all others involved in these seminars. We strongly hope that these seminars will continue to be welcome and will be held in other Asian countries in the future.
