Mickey's a defense attorney, which doesn't endear him to his ex-wife, who's a prosecutor in the District Attorney's office, nor to Heironymous "Harry" Bosch, the iconoclastic LA cop who is the mainstay of Connolly's other excellent series and m akes appearances in the Lincoln Lawyer books as well. There were a few little things that seemed contrived -the fact that the main character listened to gangster rap- But I got sucked in and kept reading this author, who was a crime writer previous to these books.
