Dear Parent/Carer,

We are writing to provide some further information surrounding the UCI Cycle Race week, Saturday 21 to Sunday 29 September. Unfortunately, despite careful thought and planning, we will not see the full impact of the road closures and re-routing until the week starts. We do appreciate that those getting home on school buses will be more affected than others.

NYCC, together with race organisers and the highways department, have re-routed most bus services after-school. Bus providers however, are still in the process of finalising these routes using their knowledge of the roads and the capabilities of their services. Further to this letter, if you have any enquiries regarding specific pick-up, drop-off points and approximate timings, we ask that you contact the bus providers directly as they will have the most accurate information on their routes.

Although we have received confirmation that all services will operate, we want to ensure that we support families during this period of significant road closures by giving students the option to remain supervised in school until 6pm. This gives parents/carers the option to opt out of using bus services that face the most significant delays so that you can collect your child. This facility is available on Tuesday and Wednesday when there is significant disruption for those living North of Harrogate.

The following services have been identified as those that may experience greater disruption and delays: Day Service Information 618H will collect directly from HGS due to the 616H unable to access 618H/616H Monday 23 Beckwithshaw September HG2 Depart HGS at 3pm
