Villanova Student Managers

The Villanova Student Managers have been an important element in the Villanova Basketball Family for generations. In recent years a pair of scholarships have been established for the purpose of rewarding those who have demonstrated their commitment to the basketball program.

Christopher M. Dincuff Award

This award honors the memory of Chris Dincuff, Villanova class of 1992. Chris was killed on Sept. 11, 2001 while working in the North Tower of the World Trade Center as a commodi- ties broker for Carr Futures. One month earlier Chris had trav- eled at his own expense to follow the Wildcats on a summer tour of Italy. He was an avid fan of Villanova basketball and Chris’ fiancée Angie Gutermuth established a scholarship to provide educational aid for a student manager in honor of Chris. This award is presented annually to a Villanova basketball manager, one of the program’s unsung heroes, who exudes the same passion for the program that Chris Dincuff demonstrated. The 2007-08 honoree is Matt Cahill.

Matt Cahill is the 2007-08 winner of the Christopher M. Dincuff Award

This scholarship was created in July, 2006 and helps to provide educational and financial support to a student manag- er from the Newark, N.J. area. The award honors Foye, who overcame the loss of both of his parents before the age of six to become a Villanova All-American from 2002-2006.
