Investing in Great Teachers •$50M increase – total $550 million for $47,500 minimum teacher pay/pay raises. Florida Education Finance Program (FEFP) •$$233/student Incr. in total FEFP; $132 increase Base Student Allocation (BSA) •$8,019 per student •$10M Incr., for a total of $110M, in Mental Health Assistance Allocation •$43.5M to create a new recognition prog. for Title I, or low-income schools based on student performance •Gardiner Scholarship - $21M Incr. total of $211M. •Maintains $10 million for Computer Science Certification (bonuses and professional development). •Maintains$5.5 million to continue the Youth Mental Health Awareness and Assistance Training for school personnel. •Provides $750,000 for the Florida Civics and Debate Initiative in recurring funding to support growing access for middle and high school speech and debate programs. •Maintains $10 million for Pathways to Career Opportunities (apprenticeship grants) to ensure Florida’s colleges and technical centers become more nimble and responsive to the demands of Florida’s economic recovery. •Provides $9 million to the Florida College System for the Florida Postsecondary Academic Library Network. In addition, the State University System is provided $11.8 million for this initiative. GOVERNOR’S BUDGET PROPOSAL
