Grandparents/Special Persons Day Friday, May 11th, 2018 An event for ALL Merton Intermediate Students At Merton Intermediate School
Grandparents are very special in a child’s life – so here’s a day just for you! Grandparents/Special Persons Day recognizes the importance of our heritage, our community, and relationships across generations. Visit our school, find out what students are learning, and celebrate with us. Note: Students who do not have a grandparent available are welcome to invite anyone they have a close relationship with: an aunt, uncle, godparent, family friend, or grown sibling.
Schedule of Events for May 11th, 2018 - Time of Event: 8:55 am - 11:35 am 8:55-9:10 am Arrival Time for Grandparents/Special Person Pictures taken and Keepsake Activity 9:00-9:45 am Breakfast with Grandparents/Special Person and Grandkids/Students 9:45-10:00 am Tour of school 10:05-10:45 am Program of Choir, Band, High School Musical Jr., & Forensics Come to class with your grandkid/student ● A chance to participate with your student in some special 10:55-11:35 am activities just for our special guests. You’ll see some of the things students are learning and experience some of the technology we use at school. End of event — students escort their grandparents/special person to 11:40 am the front door to say thank you and good-bye
Grandparents/Special Person will get to eat breakfast with their grandchild at Merton Intermediate School. The cost will be $5.00 for each participant. We ask that grandparents /special person and students pay for the breakfast ahead of time, so we can ensure we have enough food for all. Please contact Mr. Werni for gluten restrictions.
Return the RSVP form to the Intermediate School Office with payment by 9am, Tuesday, May 8th! The event is limited to 300 participants. Spots fill up fast and RSVPs are considered on a first come first serve basis. There will be an advertisement made when we are nearing max capacity.

A special request: Students often wonder what school was like when you were young. Each year we will ask grandparents to come to the event prepared to answer a question about their school years. This year’s question is: What was one of your favorite memories from when you were in middle school?
