*EXHIBITORS PLEASE NOTE: EACH DAY IS A NEW TRIAL. THERE FOR THE ENTRY FEES STARTS OVER WITH FIRST ENTRY FEE. * ENTRIES ARE LIMITED to eight hours of judging time per day, per judge and will be taken on a first come first serve basis. Regular classes will be given first priority followed by Optional Titling Classes.

Since the closing date falls on a holiday and any entries received on Thursday December 26th will be accepted, per the Rules Applying to Dog Shows, Chapter 6, Section 9.

Judging schedule will be emailed prior to trial. (Please make sure you PRINT your email address) Consult the judging schedule for your approximate time of Judging for your class. Dogs should be present at least 30 minutes prior to being judged.

Dogs must be at ringside when they are scheduled to enter the ring per the ring steward board. In the event of an emergency, MADTA reserves the right to substitute judges.

Description of Wild Card R/R Classes: THIS APPLIES TO: R/R NOVICE, R/R OPEN AND R/R UTILITY.

The Random Reward class is for any dog that is capable of performing the exercises in that level class and is eligible under the Obedience Regulations to compete in AKC events. No title is required to enter and handlers may enter more than one dog. Dogs in the class may be handled by the owner or any other person, and may be entered in additional class or classes. The Wild Card R/R classes will be performed in the same order the regular classes (Novice, Open, Utility) except that VERBAL PRAISE during the exercise is to be ENCOURAGED and NOT penalized. Examples of praise that would be allowed: “good, yes, nice, super, great, atta boy”. Handlers will not be allowed to hold up a class with excessive encouragement and Judge will have the option to end any exercise. Each handler may ALSO choose to: A) SKIP ONE EXERCISE or B) Choose to do that exercise but be allowed to leave their position, anytime during that exercise and go to the dog to reward with a TOY (The toy must fit in a pocket or be concealed under clothing, not visible to the dog. TOY MAY NOT MAKE NOISE NOR ROLL INTO ANOTHER RING!). When checking in, the HANDLER MUST INFORM THE JUDGE OR STEWARD which exercise selected to SKIP or selected to GO AND REWARD the dog. ! WILD CARD RANDOM REWARD is for FUN and practice! No TITLES are earned

Qualifying ribbons will be awarded to dogs with qualifying scores for each Obedience class. Prizes will be awarded in each ring upon completion of classes. Any Special Prizes will be awarded at the end of the Trial, at the trophy table, as the exhibitors present their related armbands. Prizes will NOT be mailed. Prizes not claimed will become the property of MADTA and may be awarded at a future Trial. Some Special Prizes require sign-up prior to exhibiting in class.

An acknowledgement rosette will be awarded to each exhibitor completing their title at our Trial.

All entries must be legible and have a jump height if entered in classes that use jumps or it will be refused,

Classes with Jump Heights will be run Friday in Descending order, Saturday in Ascending order and on Sunday in Descending order.

MOVE-UPS: After a dog earns a title, it may be moved up to the next class in a future trial even though the closing date for the trial has passed. This move-up may be requested if, according to the owner’s records, the dog has completed the requirements for the title after the closing date of the trial in which the advanced entry is to be made. Move-ups may be approved, provided the next level class and the judge is available and the class has not reached its limit. Please contact the trial secretary for trial move- up forms and be prepared to supply jump heights for move-up classes Move-ups will be allowed only before start of trial. Secretary is not responsible for making sure you have entered the correct A or B class.

REFUND POLICY for Bitches in Season The entry fee less a $10.00 processing fee per trial will be refunded upon written request to the Trial Secretary for a bitch coming into season after the closing date of entries for this rally trial. if written notification is received by the Trial Secretary PRIOR TO ENTRY CLOSE DATE. Due to workload, refunds cannot be made on day of trial; they will be mailed after the trial is over.

This statement is required by AKC that at every licensed or member club Trial, included in the entry fee is a recording fee of $3.50 required for the first entry of each dog and a recording fee of $3.00 shall be required for each additional entry of the same dog. (This is not a separate fee it is already added into the first entry fee) *These fees are collected by the club giving the trial and paid to the American Kennel Club. (New AKC rule effective 9/1/2011) ALL ENTRIES MUST BE SIGNED! Mail entry with proper fees as per instructions on entry forms. Telephone, or e-mail entries will not be accepted.

NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS 1. Exhibitors should be present prior to start of their class and must report to the ring steward table upon arrival. Dogs must be at ringside when scheduled to be judged or risk disqualification. If you have a conflict with multiple ring entry times, notify the judges by telling the table Stewarts and wait for the judge’s response. JUDGES ARE NOT REQUIRED TO WAIT FOR DOGS. Owners or Agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging ring when their classes are called to be judged. 2. Consult Judging Program for time of judging. Dogs may arrive any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. Dogs not required for further judging will be excused. 3. Exhibitors must have their dogs use the identified Exercise Area outside the trial facility and please clean up after their dog. Should your dog have an accident inside the facility please ask for cleaning supplies. 4. No RV overnight parking available at trial site. Hotels and Motels in the area are in the premium. It is recommended that you make reservations early. 5. Exhibitors are reminded to bring their own chairs. 6. A half hour lunch break may be taken by the Judges at their discretion. 7. NO Food in the Ring at any time. 8. ALL DOGS PRESENT must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged. NO FLEXI LEADS ALLOWED 9. Only dogs that are eligible to be shown under the American Kennel Club rules are allowed on the show site. Dogs NOT entered in the trial are not permitted on the show site. 10. DUE TO LIMITED SPACE. NO EX-PENS are allowed, please put your dog’s crate against the wall and your Chair in front of your dog. Please be courteous to your fellow exhibitor and offer to move over a little to make room if necessary. 11. The safety of the handlers and dogs is our primary concern. By entering these trials, exhibitor acknowledges that they are familiar with the rules and regulations for this sport. 12. Shoes worn by the handler must be closed toed. Handlers may not compete in bare feet. NO flip-flops or open toed shoes permitted. 13. It is expressly understood that exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs and/or children. Any exhibitor whose dogs and/or children create unnecessary disturbances or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the Trial Committee, be asked to leave the trial site. In such case, no refund of any fees paid will be made. 14. All “warm ups” MUST be done ON LEAD. That means the lead is attached to the dog’s collar and the handler is holding the lead. 15. Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs at show site and all hotel, motel, and campgrounds where they are staying while competing in these trials. 16. We will reserve a few spots for people with Handicap Stickers/ Card. You must have the Sticker/Card available for us to see. 17. We will have someone available to help direct in the parking lot of places you can or cannot park, as we cannot park Infront of the metal gate to the neighboring field.

Please tend to your dog’s properly. Help our club keep the Motels’ cooperation by leaving your rooms and grounds in good condition. Motels that accept dogs are scarce.
