This process enables the firm or organisation to learn more about the candidate, assess their written communication skills, consider individual responses and how the candidate may be suited to the summer clerkships in law firms Government departments and agencies generally recruit candidates culture of the workplace. The key to answering these questions is to be precise and ensure that you have provided the relevant details and actually through a graduate intake selection process, and most do not offer answer the question.     A Forgotten Cohort: Citizenship Through Work and Persons with Disabilities Ron McCallum* & Hannah Martin" Though the UnitedNations has recognized that access to work is afundamentalhuman right, access to this right is commonly denied to persons with disabilities throughout the world. Their exclusion from full participationin the labourforce has generated,and continues to generate, both economic andsocial disadvantageswhile also preventing them from accessinga key feature of citizenship: the right to work. The authors argue that improving persons with disabilities' access to, andparticipationin, employment will allow them to take-and also to give back-the full benefits of industrial citizenship. An examination of various internationalinstruments, including the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, provides an overview 2016 CanLIIDocs 4544 of the commitments made to persons with disabilities regardingfair and equal employment. The authors use the case studies ofAustralia and Canada as a means to examine the effectiveness of two very different strategiesfor increasing employment for persons with disabilities-anti- discriminationlegislation and sheltered workshops. The authors ultimately conclude that only policies that increasepersons with disabilities' access to the open labour market, such as anti- discriminationlegislation and the imposition of duties of reasonableaccommodation, have the potential to allow persons with disabilitiesto accessfull citizenship at and through work.     NOTICE OF INTENTION Proposed transfer of the life insurance business of Asteron Life & Superannuation Limited ABN 87 073 979 530 (Asteron Life) to TAL Life Limited ABN 70 050 109 450 (TAL Life). Asteron Life and TAL Life give notice of their intention to make an application to the Federal Court of Australia (Federal Court) for confirmation of a scheme under Part 9 of the Life Insurance Act 1995 (Cth) to transfer the life insurance business of Asteron Life to TAL Life (the Scheme). The proposed effective date of the transfer is 12.01am (AEST) on 1 October 2021 (Effective Time). The application is scheduled to be heard at 10 September 2021, or on such other time or date as the Federal Court appoints. The hearing will be heard at the New South Wales Registry of the Federal Court, located at Law Court’s Building, Queen’s Square, Sydney. Affected policy owners have the right to attend the hearing and can request to be heard by the Court. If the Scheme is confirmed by the Federal Court, then it is proposed that with effect from the Effective Time, TAL Life will assume all of Asteron Life’s rights and liabilities in relation to all life insurance policies issued by Asteron Life.     ANNUAL REPORT 2 017 18 VICTIMS AND WITNESSES OF CRIMES COURT SUPPORT INC VWCCS Annual Report 2017/18 | 1 PRESIDENT’S REPORT VWCCS continues its service at Parramatta, the Downing Centre, Waverley, Orange and Bathurst Courts. It is now pleased to announce that, in addition to planning an Induction and Training Program for Dubbo, it has also identified Newcastle Court where VWCCS’ service will be welcomed. As a consequence, VWCCS plans to combine an Induction and Training Program for both Dubbo and Newcastle inductees, to be held in Newcastle from 30 July to 3 August 2018. VWCCS will also be adding to its Orange and Bathurst teams by including 2 inductees to join the training program in Newcastle. Further applications for funding have been successful. VWCCS wishes to thank the NSW Department of Justice and the Scully Fund who have provided funding which will play a significant role to enable VWCCS to maintain its high standard of training of its inductees in Newcastle. VWCCS wishes to acknowledge and thank Newcastle Police for its generosity in providing its Tony Tamplin Training Room throughout VWCCS’ Training Program and to the Registrar of Newcastle Court for providing a Court Room in which to conduct the Moot to be presided over by NSW Magistrate the Hon Graham Blewitt, AM.
