1. Partnerships and Coordination

• As the designated lead agency for supporting the Government of Ethiopia (GoE) in the management of migrant returnees, IOM continued to support GoE in coordinating support for quarantine facilities in and the regions (54 in total). Disease Surveillance

3. Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) • Reached over 1,100,000 individuals with hygiene awareness promotion through door to door sensitizations, mass mobilization, sensitization during distributions, radio spots and leaflet distributions since April 1. • Distributed over 22,900 soaps, 108 handwashing and institutional cleaning kits, and conducted 104 jerrycan cleaning campaigns. • Trained 252 hygiene promoters, 30 WASH management committees, and 198 religious and 1,100,000 community leaders on COVID-19 prevention measures and messaging. Beneficiaries • Produced banners with new visual content in English, Afan, Oromo, Amharic and Somali to reached be displayed at intervention sites. 4. Camp Coordination and Camp Management • IOM/Site Management Support (SMS) Working Group continues to coordinate between Shelter, WASH, Health Clusters and Government agencies on the mitigation of COVID-19 in IDP sites identified as most at-risk of virus transmission. • So far 78% of Priority 1 sites for Shelter Decongestion and 74% of Priority 1 sites for Water supply increase are not yet covered by either funding and/or Partner capacity.
