PCSO John Dullingham has left the team and taken on a new role as part of the Community Safety Patrol team. John was a very experienced PCSO with many years service to the rural area. We wish him all the success in his new role. Community priorities The community priority for Basingstoke Rural West is burglary. There continue to be reports of breaks to shed and outbuildings in order to steal garden machinery and plant equipment. We circulate Hampshire Alerts so that you are kept informed of crimes in your area. On 31 May, a TREK mountain bike was stolen from a garage at George Street, Kingsclere. On 3—4 June, a shed was broken into at Manor Road, Sherborne St John and an outbuilding at Vyne Road was also broken into. On 5—6 June, there was an attempted break-in into a garage at Priors Road, Tadley. The following night, a garage lock-up was broken into at Hangar Road, also in Tadley. On 7 June, a Hayter lawnmower was stolen from . On 8—9 June, a property was broken into in St Mary Bourne and STIHL garden machinery was stolen. There was an attempted burglary at a premises in Finkley, Andover. Three nights later, a horse TAC, an Ivor Williams trailer and a Rice trailer were stolen from a property at Gore End. A white Transit van had been parked in the vicinity, but no details are available. It is believed that grinders were used to cut the padlocks. Two outbuildings were broken into in Stoke between 18—21 June in which power tools and machinery were stolen. An attempted break-in was reported at Sherborne St John Village Hall on 24 June.
