I think Kingswood should be seen as a whole whether you live on older Kingsbury Way side or new Kingswood Park side but if it has to change then I believe the original houses on Kingsbury Way and Kesteven should remain as Kingswood and the new side change!

I am writing to confirm my support regarding the Kingswood Residents Association proposal to base the new ward boundaries on those used for the Kingswood Area Action Plan - Area Action Plan 2016.

I believe the whole of Kingswood should remain as one ward and not split into two separate ones.

Yours faithfully, Emma Mackay

I would like to know why my house which I originally bought on Kingswood isnow being tied with North bransholme. I did not buy a house on a council estate and do not want it to be tied as the value of the house will decrease. It is a preposterous proposal. Bransholme is a council estate Kingswood is a private estate. There is now a link road joining both sides of Kingswood so why now split it?

Dear Sirs,

I have been made aware of your proposal to merge Bricknell ward with Newland ward in Kingston Upon Hull. I strongly object to this.

The Bricknell ward works very well and we have excellent representative councillors. Why change it?

1 As a resident of I wish to express my disappointment with the suggested boundaries for council wards in my area. Your dividing line cuts my community off from the rest of Holderness ward, by arbitrarily moving the streets on Chamberlain Road into . I can not see the logic in this.

We are all one community in Stoneferry - our children go to Stoneferry Primary School, which is in the heart of our area. We are well linked to Rockford Avenue with cycle paths and to Lorraine Street by Stoneferry Road. Many of us have allotments on Lamorna Avenue. The planned new boundary would mean our community and facilities are split.

I think this proposed change is an unnecessary one. It fails to take into account the identifiable Stoneferry area and does not support our community's best interests. I hope you will think again. It would be much more sensible to leave the streets off Chamberlain Road in Holderness.

Thank you.

Mr McDougall

Dear Local Government Boundary Commission,

I was a ward councillor for University Ward in Hull between 2010 and 2014.

I’ve looked at your draft boundaries and cannot see any justification for swapping Polling District OPGA for Polling District UNVD. If this is the only change proposed for University Ward, then simply leave University Ward comprising PDs UNVA-D, plus the section of Endike Lane between the Beverley & Barmston drain and Beverley Road, around Endike Primary and the Cross Keys pub. The fact that this is in Orchard Park confuses residents and is an anomaly. You could put the boundary either along Greenwood Avenue or along the back fenceline of the houses on 1st Avenue behind the park. Swapping OPGA for UNVD would be change for change’s sake.

If you are willing to consider more significant changes, in your report you say that you wish you could have used Endike Lane as the northern boundary for University Ward. One way to achieve this would be to include the whole of the area between the Beverley & Barmston drain and Beverley High Road in University ward. You could then move the northern boundary west of the drain to Endike Lane. It would be a much better fit in community terms for people living on Downfield Avenue, Tudor Drive and The Queensway. It would also remove the need to cut long avenues like 5th Avenue and 21st Avenue in half at Ellerburn Avenue which would make a lot of sense for North Hull Estate residents, some of whom are currently in University whereas others are in Orchard Park and Greenwood.

Personally I would prefer the latter option as, whilst it would create a slightly unusual shaped ward, it would actually be a much better fit for the natural communities in the area and would avoid splitting the numbered avenues.

Thanks again,

Tom McEvoy

University Ward councillor – 2010-14.

There should be no change to the boundaries of the Bricknell Ward. The merger with part of Newland Ward is not in the best interests of either population of residents.

My name is Margaret Milner and I live on off Beverley Road in Hull. I’ve looked at your new wards for the Hull and support the proposal for a new Beverley and Ward where I live. It’s just like the old Beverley Ward we had before which worked fine and people who live all the way up Beverley Road care about what happens on their drive or bus route into town.

To whom it may concern.

I'm writing to express my disappointment at the changes being made to council wards in my area.

I live in Garden Village ‐ which has been cut in two by the changes ‐ along James Reckitt Avenue and between Chestnut Grove, Derwent Street, Beech Avenue and Durham Street. We have always been part of Drypool Ward, but your plans put my street in Holderness Ward instead.

I've lived round here for most of my life. Before living in my current home on Chestnut Grove I lived round the corner on Montrose Street. My children and grandchildren live in this community. This area is one community and your plans would split us in two.

We use the same shops as people in the Montrose Street, Buckingham Street and Barnsley Street areas. Our families go to the same schools ‐ Mersey and Buckingham Primaries.

Holderness Ward is a completely different area and community.

We have the number 9 bus that runs through Garden Village connecting us with the shops at ASDA and our library on Holderness Road.

This change is unnecessary and we should be left as we are, in Drypool Ward. Please reconsider.

Thank you,

Mrs B Moore

Dear Sir/Madam

I live in the Rockford Avenue area where we have strong links to other parts of the current Holderness ward, which your proposals want to split us from.

Opposite my home are the Rockford Playing Fields, which are well used by people in Rockford, Lamorna and Brendon Avenues ‐ as well as by people on other streets surrounding them, including Hathersage Road and Lambwath Road. The field is the centre of our community. By drawing the boundary between Drypool and Holderness wards across it you are splitting us away from the rest of our local area.

Stoneferry Primary is our local primary school ‐ shared with people in Glebe Road and Leads Road. You are splitting our streets away from the rest of the catchment area by including us in Drypool ward. That is not the same community.

I feel strongly that Chamberlain Road serves as a clear boundary between two communities. Your proposal to include us in Drypool ward not only cuts us off from other streets that we share facilities with, but also puts us in the edge of another ward that you cannot get to easily without crossing back into Holderness ward anyway. There is no bus route to link us to the rest of Drypool ward and no shared facilities. Please reconsider your proposals and leave us in Holderness ward with the other streets in our community.

Why alter a boundary which has been set for as long as I can remember and is recognised by and works well for the community it serves.

Regards

Denise Moore

I wish to complain about the proposed new boundary for Bricknell ward. We will be put with a different ward with conflicting needs.
