Prayer for the Day Almighty God, Father of all mercies and giver of all comfort: Deal graciously, we pray, with those who mourn, That, casting all their care on you, They may know the consolation of your love; Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Please pray for….  The family of Jo Cox  Helen and Kerry’s family  David Randolph-Horn and his family.  Sheena McMain  For Emma Temple and her work with SCM and the Universities Chaplaincy  Paul and Catherine and Milo after Buster’s passing last week  Raja and Mahmoud  James, Ruth, Dave and Hannah living in Australia  Sameer for his continued health and healing  Helen, an asylum seeker who AJAR supported in the past who is still imprisoned in Newhall Prison.  Ramesh’s friend, Brian, who has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, that his treatment will go smoothly and successfully and that he is healed. Pray also for strength for him and his partner David during this difficult time.  Linda, Richard and all Linda's family  Jackie’s mother, Pat, who has cancer. And for the family.  Jack as he approaches his priesting on 25th June

The wider community….  All who use our building during the week  Members of Hyde Park Methodist, their community shop and youth work  Our Muslim neighbours  MEND and their work challenging and discrimination  The June Project and their work this month in the Hyde Park area  For wisdom and respect in the referendum and campaigning

For justice, peace and healing in the world….  For peaceful resolutions in Burundi, Turkey, Iraq, Syria, DRC, and South Sudan  For all those trying to escape from war, persecution and violence  For those detained in Immigration Removal Centres, particularly Yarl’s Wood,  the Verne, Dover, Colnbrook and Morton Hall  For the people of La Concha in Nicaragua

Wednesday 22nd June 9.30am – 4pm (approx.): BEACON will be hosting their annual Walk for Justice. Centenary Square (leaving at 10am prompt), Bradford finishing at Waterside Court, Kirkstall Road, Leeds. Length: 10miles (approx.)

Wednesday 22nd June 6-9pm: Leeds No Borders film night (a Bollywood film about the struggle for Indian independence, focusing on Bhagat Singh, a revolutionary Indian freedom fighter) and letter writing to people in detention and prison, at Wharf Chambers Ground Floor, 23 - 25 Wharf Street, LS2 7EQ Leeds

Friday 24th June 6pm Bikes without Borders! Critical Mass cycle around Leeds City centre during Refugee Week. Meet outside Leeds City Museum on Millennium Square. There will be a bit of a party & food share afterwards. See Paul for further details

Saturday 25th June: Please pray for Jack as he approaches his priesting on 25th June at Halifax Minster at 11.00. His first service as president at the Eucharist is on Sunday 3rd July at 10.30 at St. Luke's . If anyone would like to attend either service you would be most welcome.
