SENIOR DIVISION Tournament Rules & Regulations Effective September 25, 2020

The Senior Division Tournament Rules & Regulations shall be considered a part of the NCPGA Tournament Rules & Regulations, and for convenience are printed separately. Amendments to Senior Division Tournament Rules and Regulations may be proposed by the Senior Board of Directors. The Senior Division Tournament Rules & Regulations may be amended by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the NCPGA SECTION BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

SECTION 1 - TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE

A. The Senior Division Tournament Committee is regulated by the Senior Division Board of Directors. The members of the Tournament Committee are appointed by the President of the Senior Division. The Tournament Committee will be comprised of a Tournament Chairman; Senior Division President and any other members of the Senior Division deemed necessary. The Chairman at his discretion shall call meetings with notice given by ordinary mail or phone.

SECTION 2 - DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBLIGATIONS OF THE TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE

A. The Senior Division Tournament Committee shall be responsible for the conduct of all Section Senior Division events. The committee shall secure dates and venues for all Senior Division events and submit the schedule to the Senior Board of Directors for approval.

B. The Senior Division Tournament Committee shall designate the rules officials at all Senior Division Events. (Participants shall not serve on the Rules Committee at any of the Senior Division Championship events.) Tournament postponement, cancellation or suspension is the responsibility of the Tournament Chairman and his Committee or their designated representative. Such designated responsibility shall be assigned for each event. In the event that a Senior Tournament is postponed and/or cancelled, the Event may be rescheduled upon approval of the Senior Board of Directors.

SECTION 3 - TOURNAMENT CONTESTANT ELIGIBILITY

A. All NCPGA members and eligibly employed, registered apprentices fifty (50) years of age or older are members of the NCPGA Senior Division and are eligible to compete in Senior Division tournaments

1. Class F members are ineligible for all Senior Division tournaments. 2. Apprentice contestants must be working on a full-time basis at a recognized , course or as defined in the PGA Constitution, Article III, Section 1 and 2, but are ineligible to compete in the Senior , Senior , or the Senior North South Challenge Cup. Apprentices are not eligible to receive Player of the Year points. 3. Only NCPGA Senior members are eligible to compete in special Senior Division Qualifying Events. 4. No player will be eligible if they have played in more than twelve (12) combined PGA Tour, Senior PGA Tour and Subsidiary Tour events within the twelve (12) months preceding the first round of the tournament. 5. Inactive members are eligible to participate in all Senior Division tournaments, except Championships, but are not eligible to receive Player of the Year points.

B. Verification of employment

1. The Senior Division Tournament Committee reserves the right to verify the employment of any contestant participating in a sanctioned NCPGA Senior Division event. 2. If there is a question any member or apprentice may be asked to submit written verification of their employment to the Senior Division Tournament Committee. 3. Written verification may include either payroll records or moneys received records from teaching professionals.

C. Falsification of employment verification. Any member or apprentice found falsifying employment verification or in violation of employment verification will be reported to the NCPGA Section Board of Directors and will be subject to suspension and fines per the NCPGA Tournament Rules & Regulations Section V, C, 9. NOTE: PGA of America requires a member to be working 36 hours per week in order to be an A-6.

SECTION 4- DUTIES AND OBLIGATIONS OF PARTICIPATING PROFESSIONALS A. Entries must be received by the deadline date. Participant's entry fees must be paid for prior to the start of the event.

B. In the event any contestant entered in a NCPGA Senior Division Tournament must withdraw, cancellation notice must be given in advance of the event, or the contestant will be subject to the provisions of Section V. C of the NCPGA Tournament Rules & Regulations.

C. Any Professional not completing a competitive round in a NCPGA Senior Division sponsored or sanctioned Tournament without a valid reason will be subject to a fine and/or suspension as outlined in Section V. C of the NCPGA Tournament Rules & Regulations. D. Every competitor MUST return a card for himself, or in team competition, for his team, even if the card is marked "no card". Failure to return a scorecard will result in a fine according to the provisions of Section V.C of the NCPGA Tournament Rules & Regulations.

E. Tournament Dress Code: Jeans of any make or design, shorts, shirts without collars are improper dress for professionals in all NCPGA Senior sanctioned or approved events. EXCEPTION: The Host Professional and/or the Senior Event Chairman may authorize the use of shorts for Senior Pro-Pro and Pro-Am Events. The shorts must conform to the rules and regulations of the host club and must not be shorter than mid-thigh.

VERY IMPORTANT: NO SHORTS ARE ALLOWED IN THE FOLLOWING NCPGA SENIOR EVENTS. (Extreme temperatures may result in an exception) NCPGA SENIOR MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP NCPGA SENIOR STROKE PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP NCPGA SENIOR NORTHERN CALIFORNIA OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP.

SECTION 5- PLAYER OF THE YEAR / PLAYER POINTS NCPGA Senior Division Member Professionals competing in designated Senior Division and Super Senior Division Tournaments are awarded points according to the following point system:

1. PRO SERIES & SUPER SENIOR PRO SERIES EVENTS- (Based on 16 player minimum) 1st - 20 points 5th - 13 points 9th - 9 points 13th - 5 points 2nd - 16 points 6th - 12 points 10th - 8 points 14th - 4 points 3rd - 15 points 7th - 11 points 11th - 7 points 15th - 3 points 4th - 14 points 8th - 10 points 12th - 6 points 16th - 2 points

In any events where there are fewer than 16 players the points system will be determined by The Senior Division Tournament Committee.

2. The Stroke Play Championship – Is triple the points of the Pro-Series events

3. The Northern California Open – Is 2.5 times the points of the Pro-Series events. If 6 or more Super Seniors play, 2.5 times Pro-Pro points will be awarded.

4. The Match Play Championship – Is double the points of the Pro-Series events.

Thirty-Two (32) Player Flight: Winner – 40 points Runner Up – 32 points Semi Losers – 29 points Quarterfinal Losers – 23 points Second Round Losers – 11 points First Round Losers – 2 points

5. The Match Play Championship Super Seniors – Sixteen (16) Player Flight: Winner – 28 points 3rd – 18 points Runner Up – 20 points 4th – 15 points Quarterfinal Losers – 11 points First Round Losers – 2 points

6. The Senior Professional National Championship – A. NCPGA Senior Members who qualify for the SPNC and who make the 36-hole cut will earn points based on 72-hole finish within the entire filed of players as follows:

1st - 40 points 7th - 34 points 13th – 28 points 19th - 22 points 2nd -39 points 8th - 33 points 14th - 27 points 20th - 21 points 3rd - 38 points 9th - 32 points 15th - 26 points 4th - 37 points 10th -31 points 16th - 25 points 5th –36 points 11th –30 points 17th – 24 points 6th – 35 points 12th - 29 points 18th - 23 points 21st thru last place - 20 points

B. Players may earn BONUS POINTS in the following events- Senior PGA Championship: NCPGA Senior Members who qualify for the Senior PGA Championship and who make the 36-hole cut will earn points based on their 72-hole finish within the entire field of players as follows:

1st - 40 points 7th - 34 points 13th – 28 points 19th - 22 points 2nd - 39 points 8th - 33 points 14th - 27 points 20th - 21 points 3rd - 38 points 9th - 32 points 15th - 26 points 4th - 37 points 10th -31 points 16th - 25 points 5th –36 points 11th –30 points 17th – 24 points 6th – 35 points 12th - 29 points 18th - 23 points

Note: Since the Senior PGA Championship is played the following year from the qualifier (SPNC), the points will be earned in the year that the Senior PGA Championship is played.

SECTION 6 - ENTRY FEES

A. Entry fees must be paid prior to off of Senior Division tournament to qualify as a valid entry. NO POST ENTRIES ARE PERMITTED IN NCPGA SENIOR DIVISION SANCTIONED EVENTS UNLESS AUTHORIZED BY THE TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE OR ITS DESIGNATED REPRESENTATIVE.

B. Entries not received by the deadline date will be subject to a $25 late charge.

SECTION 7- PURSE

A. The format of purse breakdown in Tournaments and Policies adopted for such breakdowns shall be under the jurisdiction of the Tournament Committee.

SECTION 8 - SENIOR/ SUPER SR. STROKE PLAY CHAMPIONSHIPS / SENIOR PROFESSIONAL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

A. The Senior Stroke Play Championship shall be contested over a minimum of 36 holes and may be used as the Qualifier for The Senior Professional National Championship. The Super Sr. Championship shall be contested over a minimum of 36 holes.

B. Eligibility for the Stroke Play Championship is limited to NCPGA Senior Division Members who meet all eligibility requirements listed within these Rules and Regulations and are not in one of the following classifications of membership: A-3, F, Inactive or Apprentice.

C. Eligibility for the Senior Professional National Championship shall be determined by National.

SECTION 9 - SENIOR/ SUPER SR. MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIPS

A. The Defending Champion will be seeded #1 for the matches prior to the competition.

B. The Senior Division Tournament Committee shall define the number of remaining players and the manner in which they will be seeded. Qualifiers will be paired according to the USGA Numerical Draw.

C. Eligibility for this event is limited to NCPGA Senior Division members who meet all eligibility requirements listed within these Rules and Regulations and are not in one of the following classifications of membership: A-3, F, Inactive or Apprentice.

SECTION 10- PRO-PROS

A. Entry fees and type of play will be determined by the Tournament Committee.

SECTION 11-STAEDLER-JETTER CUP MATCHES

A. This event is a team competition between the Northern California PGA and the Northern California Golf Association.

1. The Team shall consist of the top ten 10 Players available from the Senior Division points list plus the top 4 Players from the Super Senior points list. The Team will be joined by the President of our Section who will either (a) choose to be a Team Captain, (b) choose to be a Team Captain and appoint a Co-Captain, or (c) appoint both a Captain and a Co-Captain. The Captain and Co-Captain can either be playing or non- playing; playing Captain/Co-Captain must qualify as a player via the points list for their Division. If there is a cancellation from the Team prior to the day of the event, the next Player(s) on the point list shall be contacted to participate.

2. If a uniform has been purchased for a Team member and He/she cancels from the competition, then he/she must reimburse the Section Office for the cost of the uniform.

SECTION 15 -- SENIOR-JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

A. The Championship shall be scheduled as a thirty-six-hole event.

B. Eligibility: NCPGA Members and Senior NCPGA Division members who meet all eligibility requirements and are not in one of the following classifications of membership: A-3, F, Inactive or Apprentice. Junior partners must be forty-nine (49) years or less during the duration of the tournament.
