Junior Dixie Boys World Series (13 and under)

Host: Columbus, Georgia: Driving in the game winning in the bottom of the seventh, Hattiesburg, Mississippi slipped by an outstanding Enterprise, Alabama team to win the Junior Boys World Series championship by a score of 8-7. The second game was necessary as the team from Enterprise forced a rematch with a 13-3 win in the first of the two championship games. Enterprise was impressive as was the Hattiesburg squad. The Alabama champs lost their first game of the double elimination tournament and came within one run of capturing it all. The championship was the first for Hattiesburg in Junior Dixie Boys World Series play. The tournament was played in Columbus, Georgia in the stadium that hosted the 1996 Olympic Softball venue.

Dixie Boys World Series (14 and under)

Host: Seneca, South Carolina: In a tournament that easily shattered the total series record for Dixie Boys Baseball; it was pitching in the final game that propelled Hattiesburg, Mississippi to the 2013 Dixie Boys World Series Championship. In a great ballgame, the team from Hattiesburg, MS slowed down the bats of Columbia County, Georgia to win the title in a well played 3-2 contest. The semi-final game was just as exciting as Hattiesburg came from behind to beat Springhill, Florida 5-4. In total, seventy two homeruns were eclipsing the sixty two homeruns that were hit in the year 2000 in Cleveland, Mississippi. World Series play for Dixie Boys Baseball started in 1963 with this being the fifty-first year that the event has been held. The title won by Hattiesburg is their third in Dixie Boys World Series play. Dixie Pre Majors World Series (17 and under)

Host: Guntersville, Alabama: The 2013 Pre Majors World Series concluded with Shelby National, Tennessee winning the title over Pittsburg, Texas in an exciting 7-3 ballgame. Shelby National from the Memphis area advanced through the bracket undefeated to claim the title; however, it was not an easy run to the title. In the five games the Tennessee team played, they scored a total of fifty seven (57) runs. Two of their five wins came via extra innings with the squad winning a thirteen inning contest over the Amherst County, Virginia team and in the semi-finals the eventual champs slipped by the Polk County, Florida team in eight frames. The championship for the State of Tennessee marked two in a row with the last two champions coming from Shelby County in Tennessee. This year marks the thirty-fifth year that a Dixie Pre-Majors World Series was played. Dixie Majors World Series (19 and under)

Host: North Charleston, South Carolina: The Dixie Majors World Series had the West Georgia (Columbus, Georgia area) team battling back and scoring five in the seventh inning to take a hard fought 10-9 win over a scrappy Paris, Texas team. With the win, West Georgia remained unbeaten in capturing the 2013 Dixie Majors World Series title. West Georgia was tested throughout the tournament and in an epic battle the Georgia squad defeated Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana by a score of 5-4 in fifteen innings. Terrebonne, the 2012 champions battled gallantly to retain the title before West Georgia scored in the top of the fifteen and closed the door on the Louisiana team in the bottom of the inning. The 15 inning game in itself was a record; however, the outstanding defensive plays from both squads were the real highlights. Paris, Texas proved to a great finalist giving up only eleven runs in its first four games. Paris, Texas lost a game earlier in the tournament 3-2 to Laurel-Jones County, Mississippi and later avenged the loss with a 7-3 victory over the LJC team. Both of the losses by Paris were one run defeats; in the forty consecutive year of Dixie Majors World Series championship play.
