The Government of aims to improve public management systems and government services provided to citizens, fight corruption in government agencies, and increase government efficiency and accountability while streamlining business and investment-related registration processes. The

Government of Egypt envisions improved government efficiency and transparency through automation,

staff training, and the development of systems.

USAID’s Economic Courts activity will support Egyptian reforms to improve the efficiency and timeliness PHOTO of case resolution while raising the quality of services in the Economic Courts to be consistent with international standards. To achieve these goals, USAID’s Economic Courts activity will partner with the Ministry of Justice and Economic Courts to introduce court automation and e-litigation in an effort to digitize court functions to strengthen transparency, improve internal court management, and heighten accountability of the Economic Court system. In addition, the activity aims to build court human resource capacity by institutionalizing a myriad of training and continuing education opportunities for the court’s administrative and judicial staff.

EXPECTED RESULTS − Automate the eight economic courts in Egypt so that they are linked with each other and other relevant stakeholders to resolve cases more efficiently and in accordance with applicable international standards − Enable judges and court staff to use automated function more effectively, thereby improving timely enforcement of decisions − Reduce number of in-person transactions and wait time for routine court functions − Increase public awareness of Economic Courts case decisions and statistics and improve customer experience
