Dear Friends, It’s our great pleasure to thank you for supporting Marian House in our 30th anniversary year! In 1982 the School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND) and the Sisters of Mercy (RSM) combined the efforts of their respective congregations together with visionary laywomen and created Marian House. The home was established in effort to meet a dire need for housing and supportive services for women recently released from incarceration in Baltimore. Thus, Marian House was born through a modest renovation of St. Bernard’s Convent on Gorsuch Avenue in Waverly and that could house 16 homeless women. Francis X. Bossle In Fiscal Year 2012, thirty years later, Marian House In Fiscal Year served 141 women and 56 children who were homeless and in need.
