MISSION STATEMENT St. Januarius is a Roman Catholic community of faith focused on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. We are grateful to those who have built up St. Januarius to be a welcoming, active, and spiritual parish. With the Eucharist and through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we strive to use the gifts and talents given to us by the Father to support the lives of parishioners at all age levels and stages of life. We also pledge to live our lives so that through our words and actions all may feel the presence of Jesus Christ in the world today. Page 2

If you, or someone you know, has questions about Jesus or the , and is not baptized, bap- tized in Protestant faith, or have not made their Holy Communion or Confirmation, please contact Fr. Ken.

Anyone who has pix from the church, please return them. We had only so many and they are missing. Thank you.

Thank you to everyone who contributed and donated their time to the Pork Roast Dinner.

Update on the funds for the Church Alive! There were four items originally on the listing. We have pur- chased the Audio/Visual Projector (from the Bingo donations); and have completed the 1st of 3 church ren- ovations, which included the wood behind the crucifix being done. However, the issue with the flat roof su- persedes the room dividers for the classrooms and will need to have that repaired/replaced.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Jesus brings God to us and us to God. With him, our life is transformed and re- Lumen Fidei newed, and we can see reality with new eyes, from Jesus’ standpoint, with his own eyes. (cf. , n.18). For this reason, I say to every one of you today: “Put on Christ!” in your life, and you will find a friend in whom you can always trust: “put on Christ,” and you will see the wings of hope spreading and letting you journey with joy toward the future; “put on Christ,” and your life will be full of his love; it will be a fruitful life. Because we all want to have a fruitful life, one that is live-giving to others. ~ Address, World Youth Day, July 25, 2013

May God’s perfect peace and love remain with you always! ~ Fr. Ken
