WEEK COMMENCING Divine Office: Week 4 23 JUNE 2019 - YEAR C FEAST OF CORPUS CHRISTI

During the month of July, the month dedicated to the Most Precious Blood of Our Lord, Scarborough Parishes is holding the International Exhibition of Eucharistic Miracles of the World. This Feast of the Precious Blood was included in the in 1849 by Pius IX on the 1st Sunday of the month, but was removed from the General Roman calendar in 1969 and was combined with Corpus Christi. However, the Feast Day on the 1st Sunday of July still survives in Jerusalem where it is celebrated each year on the Mount of Olives. Below is a panel from the Miracles Exhibition which is directly related to the Feast of Corpus Christi – a foretaste of the display which will be spread across our 3 churches and Eastfield and Filey Churches. For more information see inside the Newsletter.
