LeTort Spring Run is considered by some to be the most challenging stream in the world to fl y fi sh in, and was prominently featured in the book and TV show Fifty Places to Fly Fish Before you Die. Fishermen come from around the world to try and reel in a big, wild and colorful brown trout, but the LeTort Spring Run Nature Trail nature of the stream means they are smart and have many places to hide.

Visitors near LeTort Park can also enjoy the LeTort Spring Run Nature Trail, which features interpretive signage highlighting industry history along the LeTort Spring Run. 1

Yellow Breeches Creek is an angler’s delight. The most popular catch and release section is a mile long and runs through Allenberry Resort in Boiling Springs. Designated as a “ Scenic River,” Yellow Breeches never has a shortage of trout (mix of stocked and wild trout).

The Pennsylvania Fly Fishing Museum, located at 101 Shady Lane in Carlisle, features historic artifacts of past and present Pennsylvania fl y fi shermen. The museum has also completed many oral histories, maintains a research library containing many fl y-fi shing books and reference materials, and hosts a number of yearly events.
