Indio, Ca- The Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival is thrilled to announce AMA award-winning, country superstar John Michael Montgomery will be performing at the 63rd Annual Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival on Valentine’s
Day, Saturday, February, 14, 2009 at the Fantasy Springs Concert Pavilion at 8 pm.
What started off as a traditional family band, turned to endless opportunities and much success for John Michael Montgomery. Staying loyal to his roots, John Michael
Montgomery turned down the opportunity to move to Nashville, Tennessee by choosing to stay in Kentucky where he was born and raised. An artist with such passion and strong emotional views on love, family and patriotism, he has written many chart- topping and award-winning songs strengthening his position as one of the most versatile and compelling vocalists on the country scene. Shortly after arriving on the country music scene in 1993, his debut album, “Life’s a Dance,” became the only million-seller on the country charts by a new artist that year. The following years, John earned two of
Billboard’s Number One country singles of the year: "I Swear" in 1994 and "Sold (The
Grundy County Auction Incident)" in 1995.
Signing with labels such as Atlantic Records, which later turned to Warner

Stringtown’s reach by opening the door for other artists.
John Michael Montgomery released 13 albums in just 16 years. The success of his music was recognized as he received several awards from the start of his career. Some of his awards include American Music Award, Best New Artist (1994); American
Songwriters Magazine, Country Artist of the Year (1994); ACM, Top New Male Vocalist

Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, the deserts leader in gaming and entertainment. The Fair, in Indio, runs February 13-22, 2009. Gates open at 10:00 a.m. and close at 10:00 p.m.
