Disaster Title: Flood Location: Different Districts of Bangladesh
Event details: The Flood situation deteriorated in north and northeastern districts. New areas have been submerged as the rivers flowing through the districts marked sharp raise following downpour and onrush of water from upstream. Flood Forecasting and Warning Center of Water Development Board said though the situation in the northern districts of Panchagarh, Nirphamari, Lalmonirhat, Thakurgaon and Rangpur is improving and the situation in low-lying areas in the districts of Kurigram, Gaibandha, Bogra, Jamalpur, Sirajganj, Tangail, Rajbari, Manikganj, Satkhira, Munshiganj and Dohar and Mawabganj of Dhaka are likely to be flooded in the next 72 hours.
Flood Damage Affected area Gaibandha 2 Children drowned in flood water At least 30,000 people living in the low-lying areas along the Teesta and Karotoa rivers have been affected. Recently transplanted aman field have been damaged by flood. Gobindaganj-Dinajpur road has gone under deep water at Khalshi and Trarfmanu points. Traffic movement on this road remained suspended from Saturday afternoon. Nilphamari Teesta was flowing 40cm above the danger mark 2 people drowned in flood water Netrakona Fresh areas in five upazilas of Netrakona have gone under water. At least 35,000 people have been affected Recently transplanted aman on about 20,000 hectares of land and vegetables on several thousand hectares of land have been damaged. Three bridges on Gutora-Barkhuapon road also damaged. Sirajganj Fresh areas of 40 more villages in five upazilas have been flooded. Over 50,000 people of the affected areas have taken shelter on flood control embankment and highland. Tangail The low-lying areas of Bhuapur upazila went under water River bank erosion of Jamuna river has observed at different points. Jamuna river engulfed a large portion of Gabsara Union Health and Family Welfare Center. Rulipara Primary School is also under erosion threat. Bogra 10 meters of the embankment in Prartitporol are have been eroded by the river.
Satkhira At least 15 villages under Sadar upazila have been inundated as water from Betrabati River entered the areas. Jhhowdanga-Rajbari road and Duttabag-Akhrakhola road have gone under water.
