The Sikeston Girls’ Basketball Team put up a great fight against the Dexter Bearcats Thursday night at the Class 4 District 1 Champi- onship. This was Sikeston’s third district ap- pearance in a row, with each year facing the same opponent, the Dexter Bearcats. The girls fought hard, with outscoring Dexter in the first quarter 9-6, and being close behind at half with a score of 23-19. The last half was a strong battle, but it seemed that fouls were the problem against the Bulldogs. With two key players fouling out at end of the first half, it was their defense that made their way until the end.
