We bring interactive live music sessions to people of all ages who are receiving care or treatment in healthcare settings across the UK. Our professional musicians visit hospitals, hospices, care homes, day centres, special schools and community settings.

CARE HOMES The majority of people we meet in care homes are older, many of whom have dementia including ex-service personnel or people with additional support or mental health needs.

PLAY IT AGAIN SAV! (Scottish Aged Veterans) Music in Hospitals & Care Scotland is one of 15 organisations forming a new consortium led by Poppyscotland. The group was successful in its application for £4 million from the Aged Veterans Fund to undertake a three-year programme of support for older veterans over the age of 65 and their families in Scotland. Under the umbrella of Unforgotten Forces, the consortium will deliver a range of new services and enhancements in areas including advice, access to healthcare, addressing social isolation, respite, along with creative activities and events for those in care settings.

Singing Together with the ScottishPower Foundation We received generous continued support from the ScottishPower Foundation during 2017, for the delivery of 50 live concerts across Scotland. These performances involve older people in care homes across the whole of Scotland, with the aim of reducing levels of social isolation and loneliness experienced by people in care. The project will reach approximately 1,000 people in care.

Feast of Beethoven with Solway Sinfonia To celebrate its 20th year the Solway Sinfonia gave its first concert of the season in support of Music in Hospitals & Care Scotland. The Dumfries concert boasted not one soloist but four in ‘A Feast of Beethoven’! Summer Fruits Thanks to the Church of the Good Shepherd Murrayfield members for supporting us at their scrumptious “Summer Fruits” evening in the summer of 2017. MiHC musicians Colin Bryce and Gina Baker gave a fantastic performance at the church and the event raised over £600 for MiHC. Thank you all for your support and for the INCREDIBLE cakes.▲

Fife Reelers Ball – a reel, a burl, a jig and a hop! The 10th Anniversary Fife Reelers Ball was held in St Andrews in April this year and raised £2,500. Dancers came from far and wide from Fife, Inverness, Edinburgh, south of the border and Milan!
