SANCTUARY MUSAF SERVICE: Service Leaders: The newly reimagined Sanctuary Musaf Service invites you to reflect on the year that was and inspire you in the year to come. Through communal singing, personal prayer, English explanations, and choral music, the service is meant to keep you engaged and focused on the sacred work of teshuvah (repentance). Cantor Mayer and Rabbi Fel serve as the service leaders. All music is a capella and the choir includes Stephanie Markoff Cohen, Stephanie Trachtenberg, Randy Rosenbaum, and , Raphael, Rabbi Michael Fel Daniel, and Jonah Herzberg Mayer. Rabbi Fel will deliver his Rosh Hashanah sermon around 12:00 PM.

MEETING HOUSE MUSAF SERVICE: These services emphasize congregational singing, engagement, and meaning-mak- Cantor Brian J. Mayer ing. Led by Cantor Robert Scherr and Rabbi Navah Levine, these services will offer thought-provoking explanations of the prayers and insights into the themes of the holidays, as well as prayers sung to new melodies and traditional favorites. Rabbi Fel will deliver his Rosh Hashanah sermon around 10:15 AM.

Cantor Robert Scherr SOULFUL MUSAF SERVICE: The Soulful Musaf will focus on the U-netaneh Tokef prayer, extending and receiving blessings, and concluding prayers.

FAMILY & TEEN PROGRAMMING: Rabbi Navah Levine All family and teen programming will take place outside on synagogue grounds. 0–6 Tot Service: Led by Shayna Fel, this service features , highlights from the liturgy, and of course an engaging story. Family Service: Rabbi Alan Flam Join Rabbi Rami Schwartzer and Ronni Guttin for an engaging, family-friendly service, featuring highlights from the traditional liturgy, thought-provoking questions, and a chance to hear the shofar! On Holy Days, in the Temple in , mourners and others who had experienced difficulty during the year would circle the Temple grounds in one direction while other worshipers would circle in the other. As a result, they would bump into each other and one could offer support to the other. Given that many of us haven’t seen each other in over a year, we invite you to join us on the second day of Rosh Hashanah under the Parking Lot tent so that we can connect with each other, offer words of comfort, and wish each other a Shanah Tovah. ORDERING LULAV AND ETROG The Torah instructs us to take in hand to celebrate – willow, palm, myrtle and citron. The first three are bound together and are collectively called a lulav. The citron, or etrog, is a sweet-smelling citrus fruit grown in Israel.
