Raebareli Cement Works (RCW), a unit of M/s Birla Corporation Limited (BCL) proposes production capacity expansion of existing cement grinding unit from 0.90 MTPA to 1.25 MTPA by process optimization, modification and installation of new equipments at UPSIDC Industrial area, Phase-II, Amawan road, Maharajganj tehsil, district, .

For proposed expansion in cement grinding unit, clinker will be sourced from company’s integrated cement plants of RCCPL and gypsum will be sourced from Rajasthan, J & K and imported from some other available nearby countries. Further, fly ash will be sourced from Rosa thermal power plant as well from nearby thermal power plant to produce Pozzolona Portland cement. The proposed expansion in grinding unit will cater to the cement needs of , , Raebareli and surrounding area market and will also utilize the fly ash generated from the existing & proposed thermal power plants.

Water Requirement

Existing water requirement is about 145 KLD. Proposed additional water requirement is about 5 KLD. Total water requirement after expansion is about 150 KLD.

Obtained recommendation letter from CGWB, Lucknow vide letter no. 10 (1) /CGWA/ NR/ GWC/15-6469 dated 29th November 2018 for withdrawal of groundwater for abstracting 150 KLD (NOC from CGWA, New Delhi is under process).

Power Requirement

Existing power requirement is 4.50 MVA which will be sufficient for production capacity expansion of the RCW grinding unit and being met from the state grid of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL).

Manpower Requirement

Total number of persons for operation phase is 55 out of which 8 person in general shift and remaining 47 in shift operations have been considered.

Unskilled/ semi-skilled manpower can be sourced from the local area and skilled manpower shall have to be sourced from outside/ local.
