INDIANA MEMORIAL UNION The Indiana Memorial Union welcomes you for Parents’ Weekend! The Indiana Memorial Union, known on campus as the IMU, is a vibrant gathering place for students, faculty, staff, alumni and guests of the university. The IMU is the center of campus life. The IMU has a staggering 500,000 sq. feet of space making it one of the largest student unions in the world. The IMU offers a variety of convenient shopping and service venues all under one roof and at the center of campus. Some of the programs and services include several dining venues, banking, bowling and billiards, a student technology center, a bookstore, and a hotel and conference center. We invite you to enjoy one of these events during Parents’ Weekend.

Friday through Sunday Parents Bowl Free The Back Alley welcomes all parents to Indiana University. As our guests, parents can bowl free (shoe rental included) when accompanied by their IU student. Automatic scoring is available. Glow-in-the-dark “cosmic” fun is offered during the evening on weekends. The Back Alley also offers vintage pinball games and billiards. The Back Alley is located on the Mezzanine level of the IMU.

Wylie House Tour, 10 a.m.– 2 p.m., 317 E. Second Street Take a tour of one of Bloomington’s oldest surviving structures. , built in 1835 by IU’s first president, Andrew Wylie, is now operated as a historic house museum. The home is furnished in period antiques, including some significant Wylie family artifacts. Wylie House and its heirloom garden is just a 15 minute walk southwest from the Indiana Memorial Union. Lilly Library Tour, 4:00 p.m., East 7th Street The , IU’s rare book and manuscript library, has more than 400,000 rare books and 7,500,000 manuscripts. See highlights from the collections such as the New Testament of the Gutenberg Bible, an Oscar won by director John Ford, the elephant folio of Audubon's Birds of America, and some of the world’s smallest books. The Slocum Room featuring over 400 mechanical puzzles will also be open. Library hours are Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Herman B Wells Library North Jordan Ave. & East 10th St. Among the most popular destinations for students on the IU campus, the Library is a vibrant, high tech environment for research and learning. The IU Bloomington Libraries house more than 7.8 million books in over 900 languages that support every academic discipline on campus. The expansive Information Commons in the library’s west tower provides both individual and group workstations, making it easy for students to work independently on course assignments or collaborate with classmates on research projects and presentations. Librarians and information technology staff are on site and online until midnight daily, ready to answer questions, solve problems, and help students find the resources they need. Beyond offering convenient and reliable access to information and research materials, the Wells Library provides the spaces critical for learning – instructional labs for specialized workshops, Writing Tutorial Services, group study rooms, quiet study floors, meeting areas with flexible seating, a café, and a food court. Campus Recreational Sports SRSC and HPER Tours, Informal tours, 10am - 8pm, Friday through Sunday, SRSC lobby and HPER Wildermuth Gymnasium Tour and work out at one of the country's leading campus recreational sports facilities. The 204,000 sq-ft Student Recreational Sports Center, built at a cost of $22.5 million, has been one of the most active places on campus since it opened its doors in July 1995. SRSC highlights include the Counsilman/Billingsley Aquatic Center, three multi-sport gymnasiums, elevated running track and a strength and conditioning room equipped with over 400 pieces of cardiovascular and weight-training equipment. At the School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation Building, explore the historic Wildermuth Gymnasium, visit the Royer Pool where legendary Olympic champion Mark Spitz trained, or take a walk around Woodlawn Field and the sprawling tennis courts. Parents, when accompanied by their son or daughter who is enrolled in IUB, can use the facilities for free this weekend. The Student is required to bring their Valid student ID and the parents also must present their Photo ID. Siblings can purchase a day pass. Age policies apply.
