CONFESSION TIMES The Sacrament of Reconciliation and Penance Monday – Friday 9am -9:30am (Wed. 6pm -7pm) & Sundays during all Masses The tradition of the Fathers of the Oratory since the time of St Philip is to make themselves available 15 minutes before daily Mass as well as during Sunday Masses. A door bell has now been positioned in between the two confessionals in the church so that anyone wishing to go to confession outside of these set times you may do so. Please press the bell once. If one of the Fathers is in the Oratory he will come to the confessional box as soon as is possible.

My House Will be Called a House of Prayer. Silence is a challenge for some people whilst for others it is blessed relief. Certainly in relation to mental prayer silence is essential. It is the disposition required so as to listen to the voice of God as well as talk to Him. Allow the voice that 'bubbles up' to address God. Do not be afraid if it begins with all your worries, needs, frustrations, groceries to buy, prescriptions, emails; a shopping list of individuals... Once that stream of consciousness exhausts itself, then just be silent in the presence of Almighty God. Don't lose heart, if it's a bit of a jumble or you seem to have numerous distractions. Remember all of the distractions are part of your life so they should be included in your prayer. But once that is brought to God, move on... it is the silence that bears fruit and you will soon advance in the desire to pray and notice a growth in virtue. Congratulations from the who Parish are in order for Alan Edwards. Who was presented on Saturday last with a citation from the Central Council of the St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP) for his long and distinguished service. Alan joined the SVP when he was sixteen, and with the exception of completing his National Service has continued as a most faithful member of the St Alban's Conference. God bless you!

Further Congratulations from the Parish are also due to all members of the St Alban's SVP Conference which has received a citation for its outstanding support and help given by them to the St Vincent's community shop in Tremorfa. God bless them!

Credo: Please note that the Catechetical Preparation for our Children to make their First Confession began on Sunday 22nd September 2019 at 5.00-6.30pm. It will take place in St Joseph's room: the Boy's Sacristy. There was a wonderful turn out last week. I'm sure we will have a 'bumper' group by Corpus Christi!

Church Restoration News: 1. At present we still have no hot water or heating but the engineers called on Friday. We are hoping the new boiler will be installed within the next fortnight or so. 2. You will notice the scaffolding up on the roof on the NW of the church. I will advise you of the outcome of the survey once I have received it. The survey has taken place. I await the report next week. 3. I wish to thank the persons who posted anonymous donations for the altar rail and bell appeals. God bless you.

Fundraising Ideas: If you have any ideas about fundraising there will be a social group meeting organised very soon. (I am meeting this coming week to discuss whether it is possible to attract funding for the building as well as educational funding to develop the opportunities for our children and young people. Please keep this in your prayers.)
