While you are encouraged to demonstrate mandatory attendance at all Welcome Weekend events, any event with a ☘i️ n the title is truly an event that you will not want to miss as a part of your Welcome Weekend experience!

Move In
Welcome to your Home Under the Dome! Residence halls serve as one source of community for Notre Dame students. You'll find that you will make friends in your residence halls from your transfer class, past transfer classes, and students of all years. New transfers have the privilege of being some of the first to arrive for the academic year.

Welcome Registration
To kick off Transfer Welcome Weekend, stop by 106 Duncan Student Center anytime between 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. to check-in in, meet your welcome committee and other transfer students, and pick up your folder with important information for the weekend ahead.
Light refreshments will be provided.

1/12 Academic Advisor Sessions
Advising sessions will assist you in course selection and registration to ensure you are meeting college requirements. Details are forthcoming.

Fall Mall
Stop by Stepan Center for a variety of items such as linens, hangers, futons, etc. from Bed Bath & Beyond and Carpet & Tile Depot. The Student Union Board’s Fall Mall offers convenience for those who may not be able to shop off-campus easily while moving into their new home under the dome.

The University of Notre Dame invites transfer students and families from all faith backgrounds to a Welcome Mass at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart.

President’s Welcome Dinner and Reception
Join University Administrators at the President’s Welcome Dinner and Reception to learn about the many resources that you will have as a transfer student at the University of Notre Dame. Dinner will be provided.
NOTE: This is a free but ticketed event. RSVP information will be sent to students in early August.

Transfer students are invited to an evening that is sure to be right up their alley at Strikes and Spares Entertainment Center! Kickback and relax after a busy first day and get to know other transfer students while having some fun at the lanes!

Individual Advising Sessions ☘️
Transfer student attendance required. Students will receive the time and location of their advising session during the Class Registration and Enrollment Presentation at each respective college on Thursday. Advising sessions will assist you in course selection and registration to ensure you are meeting college requirements.

Academic Testing
For those who are interested in taking a credit exam for Mathematics and for those who need to take a placement exam for a foreign language in Chinese, Japanese, or Korean, First Year Advising offers testing during Welcome Weekend.
There is no fee for taking a placement or credit exam. If you're interested in both the math credit exam AND the language placement exam, please fill out this form twice, indicating your availability to take the math credit exam at the alternative time: Tuesday, August 27 at 8:00 am. (Note: placement exams for foreign languages not listed here are available online throughout the summer.) Registration is done in advance online. If you have questions about whether you need to take an exam or need to register, please email First Year Advising. Location: DeBartolo Hall

Irish1Card production will be set up in their office on the fourth floor of Grace Hall to assist those who have not already received their card. Note: all students living on-campus should receive their card when checking into the residence hall.

Course Scheduling and Registration Help Center
Members of the Transfer Welcome Team will be available at Coleman-Morse to provide additional assistance in registering for your first classes as a Notre Dame student! Consult students who have gone through the process for tech support and helpful recommendations.

After a long morning of moving into your new residence hall home, you've definitely earned yourself a hot dog! Swing by the Campus Ministry Hot Dog Tent on South Quad to say hello to some of the friendly faces who will help you along your faith journey while a student at Notre Dame. Yes, just this once, there is such a thing as a free lunch.

What's better than putting all of a student's available resources together in one location during your first day on campus? Ever wonder what the Catholic Mass is all about? Trying to figure out how you can find your place at Notre Dame as a student from another faith background? Join your fellow classmates and family members in this can't-miss welcome event at Purcell Pavilion. The Official University Welcome will kick off your career as a Notre Dame student! Jenkins, C.S.C., Vice President of Student Affairs, Erin Hoffmann Harding, Associate Provost, Dr. Hugh Page, the Student Body President and Vice President, the Notre Dame Combined Choirs, and the Notre Dame Marching Band.

Ice Skating and Broomball 5/12 Meet in the Compton Family Ice Arena, home of the Fighting Irish Hockey Team, for a fun night of ice skating and broomball with your new peers! Explore one of ND's athletic facilities and the traditions it represents. Free skate rentals are available from Compton and snacks will be provided.

All are welcome - no previous experience is necessary and mats will be provided. See you bright and early at the Flagpole on South Quad!

Inclusive Voices for Excellence and Equity: Panel and Reception
Diversity and inclusion are integral to Notre Dame's commitment to academic excellence. We value and honor the multiplicity of experiences, backgrounds, and identities our students bring with them to campus. This event provides an opportunity for members of our community who reflect the diversity of our student body to connect with allies, network, and learn about opportunities and resources available through various departments.
There will be a 20-minute panel discussion featuring current students, followed by a reception for students and families to talk with current students, administrators, faculty and one another. Heavy hors d'oevres and refreshments provided.

One of the can't-miss events of Welcome Weekend, Domerfest provides a carnival atmosphere of fun, games, food, inflatables, and music for all incoming students. Building Community the Notre Dame Way ☘️
This is the second component of the BCND training you completed over the summer--a group discussion in which you will discuss possible situations that could be harmful to yourself and others, practice the bystander intervention strategies utilized at Notre Dame, and learn about resources that help our community be a safe and welcoming campus for all.
At Building Community the Notre Dame Way, you will learn more in depth about your role as a member of the Notre Dame community. This event serves as a culmination of all of the activities that you have participated in throughout your time at Welcome Weekend that will further enhance your experience at Notre Dame. NOTE: Gateway transfer students have already completed BCND and do not need to attend.
