For the past three months, you’ve heard Kirsten Rodgers’ work on air. A senior from Mesilla Valley Christian school in Las Cru- ces, Kirsten has been interning at KRWG. She joined the KRWG team when a teacher learned that Kirsten was interested in doing a radio internship. Kirsten has been working with KRWG-FM’s Operations Manager Edmundo Resendez. “I’ve learned how to edit audio, pay close attention to detail, get out of my com- fort zone, discern important information from non-important, and I’ve learned how Kirsten Rodgers to work on a schedule to get everything done on time,” Kirsten said. Her favorite thing to work on is simply cleaning up the audio and taking out all the “um’s” and pauses, and it is something that she finds very satisfying. In the future, Kirsten wants to work in the music industry but has no specific path, although she would love to work for a record label or manage tours. In her time at the station, Kirsten said the best part of working here is that she gets to hear about and share all the things that are happening in the community. “There’s a lot of diversity and fun in KRWG, and I enjoy getting to see that and hear about it every day,” she said. “I also enjoy working with the people. They are extremely nice and genuinely care about the work they do and the people they do it with.” KRWG would like to thank Kirsten for all her help and great job here at the station and would like to wish her luck in the future.
