Brotherhood Programming Internal Operations 2018 - 2019

To Whom It May Concern:

Our Chapter, Epsilon Iota B, holds brotherhood as a major priority among our chapter. Brotherhood builds unity among our members and sustains us through the challenges that we face during our undergraduate experiences. To build brotherhood throughout the chapter, we host multiple events throughout the year that develop bonds within the members. These are of varying calibers and frequencies. A list of each event along with their date and a brief description can be referenced below. Many of these events occur on a regular basis, but only the first instance of the event is on this document.

FAAR Criteria 0 Level ❖ The chapter does not demonstrate brotherhood programming 600 Level ❖ The chapter hosts semi-regular brotherhood events. ❖ The chapter should submit a list of each event, date, location and a brief (50 words or less) description. 800 Level ❖ In addition to the 600 level requirement, the chapter has local ceremonies which are designed to promote unity among all brothers in the chapter. ❖ These may be ceremonies such as ones used in the new member program to promote bonds of brotherhood and communicate the legacy of the individual chapter. ❖ The chapter can utilize resources found on DeltRoad.org website for this item. ❖ In addition to items submitted for the previous levels, the chapter should submit a description of each ceremony. 1000 Level ❖ In addition to the 800 level requirement, the chapter hosts an annual or bi-annual brotherhood retreat. ❖ In addition to items submitted for the previous levels, the chapter should submit an agenda of the retreat which should include: ➢ Date/location of the retreat ➢ Brief description (75 words or less) ➢ Number of brothers in attendance

January 9th, 2019 Title: College Night at Topgolf Location: TopGolf, Auburn Hills FAAR: 600 Description: Brothers kicked off the work term with a new regular event of going to TopGolf after work on Wednesdays for College Night to represent Kettering University and Delta Tau Delta.

February 12th, 2019 Title: Dollar Burger Meetup Location: Bar Louie, Rochester Hills FAAR: 600 Description: The weekly tradition of dollar burger night continues with meeting up at Bar Louie during work term to enjoy some burgers and talk about our co-op experiences!

April 7th, 2019 Title: Pass the Gavel (Ceremony) Location: Delta Tau Delta Epsilon Iota-B Shelter FAAR: 800 Description: This ceremony is intended to provide brothers an opportunity to open up and share personal details about their lives that they want others in the chapter to know about. We gather in a circle and pass a gavel around, the only person allowed to speak is the person who has the gavel.

April 18th, 2019 Title: Brotherhood Movie Night Location: Delta Tau Delta Epsilon Iota B Shelter FAAR: 600 Description: The first movie night kicks off the bi-weekly event with our brothers gathering around to watch Avengers: Infinity War before the sequel releases in theaters.

May 2nd, 2019 Title: Video Game LAN Party Location: Delta Tau Delta Epsilon Iota B Shelter FAAR: 600 Description: To celebrate the end of midterms, the brothers of EI-B bring their gaming devices to our dinning room and rec room and play video games into the night. The obligatory doritos and soda are served.

May 4th, 2019 Title: vs City FC FAAR: 600 Location: Atwood Stadium, Flint Description: The Flint City Bucks are playing a preseason friendly match against the Detroit City FC to celebrate their move to Flint, MI. Brothers will be meeting at the EI-B Shelter and walking to the stadium.

May 12th, 2019 Title: Crossing the Line (Ceremony) Location: Delta Tau Delta Epsilon Iota B Shelter FAAR: 800 Description: This ceremony is intended to show brothers that they are not alone in their experiences, and if they need someone to talk to there is someone else in the house who has been through something similar. The leader asks a question and if you agree with the statement then you step forward.

May 30th, 2019 Title: Volleyball Night FAAR: 600 Location: Delta Tau Delta Epsilon Iota B Shelter Description: Some of our brothers took a break from studying and started up a volleyball tournament to enjoy the Spring weather!

June 1st, 2019 Title: Brotherhood Retreat Location: Rifle River Campground and Canoe Livery FAAR: 1000 Number of brothers in attendance: 44 Description: On June 1st 2019 at 9:00am we carpooled to the campground. Around 11 am we arrived at the campground and began to set up our tents and ate lunch, around 1 pm we took a 5 mile canoe trip down the rifle river, we made several stops as a big group along the way and there were many opportunities for brotherhood bonding. Many of the canoe’s “barged together” and there was even more opportunities for bonding for all. After the canoe trip finished we made dinner and spent time around a campfire the rest of the night. In the morning we cleaned up the campsite, packed up our stuff and returned home.

July 23rd, 2019 Title: Dollar Burger Meetup Location: Bar Louie, Auburn Hills FAAR: 600 Description: The weekly tradition of dollar burger night continues with meeting up at Bar Louie during work term to enjoy some burgers and talk about our co-op experiences! This time, we celebrated 3 undergraduates who turned 21 years old.

September 13th-15th, 2019 Title: Summer Get Together Location: Windsor, Ontario FAAR: 1000 Number of brothers in attendance: 20 Description: On September 13st 2019 around 5:00pm, brother met at our Hotel for the weekend in Windsor. A few alumni joined in on the fun and hung out with the undergraduates all weekend! We spent the night hanging out in Downtown Windsor, catching up, and exchanging great stories that happened over the work term. The next day, some brothers headed to the casino, while the other went to a restaurant to watch some college football. At night, we all got together to grab some dinner. The next morning, the carloads of people headed out and left excited to start the next school year. This brotherhood event was an excellent time to get away from the work environment and get together with the brothers of Epsilon Iota-B.

October 14th, 2019 Title: Monday Night Football Location: Flint, MI FAAR: 600 Number of brothers in attendance: 18 Description: On October 14th, 2019, several brothers gathered in the chapter’s rec room to watch the take on the Green Bay Packers for Monday Night Football. The brothers

cheered, screamed, and roared as the Packers beat the Lions 23-22. Despite the loss, everyone had a great time watching some football and eating some wings.

October 18th, 2019 Title: Senior Bar Night Location: Flint, MI FAAR: 600 Number of brothers in attendance: 12 Description: Brothers of Epsilon Iota-B got together and did the annual senior bar night in Flint . The seniors share stories and laughs about their time at the chapter. They discuss what jobs they are applying for after graduation and how sad they are to be leaving. When the night comes to a close, the seniors head to our chapter’s kitchen and make Senior French Fries for everyone to celebrate their last year as an undergraduate.
