Aisha Bennett

Andrew Hughes Capitalizing on a 20-year career in the financial services industry, Andrew is currently Founder of HD Advisors a third-party asset management firm focused on marketing assistance for fundraising efforts in the Private Equity/Debt; Private Real Estate; Hedge Fund and traditional asset classes for both public and private entities. He also has an extensive insurance and risk management background focused on middle market property, casualty, life, disability and health insurance and maintains insurance industry licenses. Andrew is a graduate of Skidmore college where he received a BS degree with a focus on economics, remains active as a volunteer and is a former member of the Skidmore Board of Trustees. Additionally, he currently serves as a member of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee at the Portledge School, a college preparatory school based in Locust Valley, NY.

Andrew is married with three children and resides in Brooklyn, NY. Andrew’s sons, ages 18 & 15, and his 12-year-old daughter have all been BCC campers and / or ICEP participants.

Beverly Reese Beverly Reese is the mom to Noah Reese, Camp Becket, 2015- 2017. Noah was a member of ICEP New Zealand in the summer of 2017. We're hoping that his younger brother, Langston will become a thriving camper at Becket beginning summer 2021. Beverly has been serving as the Director of Admissions for Lower School, at the Berkeley Carroll School since July 2015. Beverly's work experience has been colorful, joyful and is varied. She held the role of Admissions Associate at Brooklyn Heights Montessori for five (5) years prior to joining the Berkeley Carroll School. Under her company, cobblestonentertainment, Inc., she consulted with several non-profits in development/fundraising and community/corporate relations, alumni relations, managing and planning special events, corporate cultivation and volunteerism, and public relations. In many of her tasks, she managed and increased corporate relationships by 90% with financial institutions, the auto industry, the fashion industry, the radio industry, travel and tourism, and television, in order to gain entry into their corporate philanthropy, employee volunteerism, and other non-profit giving programs. Additionally, she met with Senior Vice Presidents and Vice Presidents of the Community/Corporate Relations departments at the various corporations and gained access into their philanthropic programs. The Martha's Vineyard Film Festival was the brainchild of and founded by Beverly Reese, under her company, cobblestonentertainment, Inc., in order to create a viable platform for up and coming African-American filmmakers and film enthusiasts. As a Media Planner at Marsteller Advertising, Account Executive in Public Relations and Corporate Affairs at KeySpan Energy or as an Auditor at Ernst & Young, Beverly has brought to her current position as the Director of Admissions for the Lower School, at the Berkeley Carroll School, a plethora of experiences.

Beverly's deeply rooted volunteer experience in her neighborhood has garnered her many opportunities to change the conversation of the community, from a place of blight to now, a destination for many who travel from all over the world and experience living in Bedford- Stuyvesant. She held the position of Co-Founder and Chair, Development & Fundraising Committee of the Stuyvesant Heights Parents Association, VP and Gardening Chair of the Stuyvesant North Block Association, and served on the Board of Directors for the Bedford- Stuyvesant YMCA. Beverly holds a Bachelor's of Arts degree, Accounting and Economics from Bennett College.

Cameron Brown Cameron Brown is a former Camp Becket camper and counselor in Ranger and Pioneer village. Currently, he works as a business fiber sales executive for AT&T in Memphis, TN. Cam recently completed a work project with a Boston company that provides healthcare companies with training on cultural competency, diversity and inclusion.He is looking forward to working with this team and creating a better culture within our community.

Campbell Hart Campbell has been part of BCCYMCA for the past seventeen years. She was a camper for five summers, went on ICEP New Zealand, was an Escapaide in 2010, and then was a senior unit counselor for four summers. She went on to be the Aides and Senior Unit director, led three TSP trips, and worked at the Berkshire Outdoor Center for two seasons. After graduating from Bates College in 2016, Campbell started her teaching career as a fellow at Pine Cobble School in Williamstown Ma, before moving to Oklahoma City to teach seventh-grade history. While in Oklahoma, Campbell started to design her own social justice-based history curriculum as well as develop school-wide social justice initiatives through her role as the middle school representative for the school’s Diversity and Global Education Committee. This work inspired Campbell to apply for her Masters in Social Justice Education which she is now studying as a first-year graduate student at the University of , Amherst.

Caroline LaFiura Caroline Rosen LaFiura is Corporate Counsel for Revenue Solutions, Inc., a Massachusetts-based information technology consulting firm that builds tax, revenue, and compliance software systems for international, state, and city government clients. Previously, Caroline worked both in-house and in private practice supporting financial institutions and information technology companies. Caroline has a BA in Art History from the College of William and Mary, and a JD from The Catholic University of America. Caroline lives in Midcoast Maine with her husband Todd, children Brit and Greer, and her two Maine Coon cats, Becket and Chimney. Caroline was a camper in the 80s, traveled to Kenya on ICEP, was a Masqueraide of '91, and subsequently on staff at camp for four summers. Brit will be a Becket Aide during the summer of 2020, and Greer will be in the Senior Unit construction cabin at Chimney. Todd is a retired veteran of seven Becket Gibson Weekends.

David Walker David Walker is a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Bank of America Private Bank. In this role, he is responsible for creating and maintaining personalized investment strategies and a broad range of wealth management services including financial planning and wealth strategy. This includes assisting clients with establishing goals and objectives, working toward developing an appropriate overall strategy, formulating and implementing potential solutions, and conducting periodic reviews to help clients monitor progress toward reaching the initial goals and strategies set forth. In addition, he supports clients in navigating through changing market environments to provide traditional guidance in the areas of asset allocation, tax-minimization strategies, retirement, and multi-generational strategies from risk-based to banking and lending needs.

Prior to joining Bank of America Private Bank, David was employed by Morgan Stanley Wealth Management and BNY Mellon Wealth Management where he sold investment services to high net worth individuals and families. David spent most of his career at Van Kampen Funds in Houston. His last position was as Senior Portfolio Manager of the Van Kampen Technology Fund/Morgan Stanley Technology Fund, which was one of the top performing funds in this sector during his tenure per multiple metrics, including Morningstar rankings.

David received his B.S. degree in Computer Science from Duke University and his M.B.A. degree in Finance and Management Information Systems from the Owen Graduate School of Management. David holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation and the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation. He is a member of the CFA® Institute and the CFA® Society Boston.

Derek Tate Derek is a middle aged gay black male psychiatrist. He lives in Westchester County, , with his husband Tommy, who is a Title IX coordinator and equity compliance specialist in higher education. His interest in IDEA and anti-racism work is pretty obvious. His fun factoid is that he recently saw the movie Get Out by Jordan Peele for the first time and have become absolutely fascinated with The Order of the Coagula- "The Armitages are so good to us- they treat us just like family." LOL! Derek was raised in the Corona section of Northern Queens, betwixt Flushing and Jackson Heights- one of the most diverse areas of the borough if not all of New York City. He was a camper, aide, and CIT in the mid 1980's. He served as a trustee from 2010-2016 and was re- elected to the Board of Trustees May, 2020. One of his proudest and happiest Becket moments? Graduating up from his red tag to his black tag for swimming which meant more fun for his cabin group due to less restrictive waterfront activities and an achieved goal for him.

Derek is deeply grateful and humbled to have this opportunity to serve BCCYMCA by helping in the process of moving cultural change forward at the most impactful institution of his life.

Kat Merrill Kat Merrill is a Chimney Corners alumni that started her camper experience in 1998, finished as the Assistant Program Director on Ad Staff in 2009, and is now the Career & Networking Chair of the Alumni Council.

Kat is currently splitting her time between CT and NYC these days. She is the Managing Partner of her own Consulting company, Merrill HR, that focuses on providing strategic HR support for early stage startups. One of main clients that she is the Head of People for, Buffy (a sustainable soft goods E- Commerce company), has been on a journey this year to make diversity and inclusion a regular part of their business priorities. She has worked closely with the company's founders to identify short and long-term focuses, which have included: coaching senior leaders on bias awareness, working with employees to rewrite policies and adjust benefits offerings, expanding internal training and culture programs focused on inclusion, and changing the company's candidate funnel building and hiring processes through use of innovative technology.

Kat loves to spend time with her family and friends, and generally being active, whether that be at her local Crossfit gym or running. She looks forward to being a part of the movement to help BCCYMA develop their organization through a new lense!

Mamou Samaké Mamou Samaké is a Chimney Corners alum. She was a camper for three summers, participated in the ICEP and LIT programs, and was a member of the Junior Unit counseling staff for three summers (2016-2018). This past summer (2020) Mamou co-lead the BCCYMCA BIPOC Town Hall and co-faciliated the Organizing for an Anti-Racist BCCYMCA Facebook page along with other alumni volunteers. Mamou is currently a senior at Mount Holyoke College studying Africana Studies and Art History.

Melissa Caldwell Melissa Caldwell has been a Camp Becket parent since 2013, and she is honored to join BCC’s important work around equity, inclusion and anti- racism. Melissa is a clinical psychologist with a career-long commitment to supporting families living in communities affected by poverty. Her extensive experience spans various settings as a mental health provider, assistant professor and community based researcher. She is currently Director of Curriculum at Room to Grow, Inc., and recently served as a consultant to the New York City Department of Early Childhood Education on practices that support social emotional learning, family engagement and racial equity. Melissa holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Ph.D. from Yale University. She lives in New York with her husband Sean and their two sons: Kennan is a former camper/ICEP New Zealand participant and Miles is a current camper

Monique Jean Monique (Robenson) Jean is an Executive Director, Senior Residential Mortgage Attorney at Morgan Stanley. A graduate of Iona College, Monique also received her JD from Pace University School of Law. Monique is a former trustee, Chimney Corners alumna, and mom to campers at Becket and Chimney Corners. Monique, Carl, Brooke, Brandon and their dog Becket live in White Plains, NY.

Nancy Vineberg From her first (rainy) Gibson weekend in 2011, Nancy Vineberg has treasured being a member of the Chimney Corners family. Her daughter Noa has been a CCC camper, ICEP Sweden participant, Revelaide, and Junior Unit counselor. Nancy is Chief Development Officer at The Brookline Center for Community Mental Health. A member of the senior leadership team, Nancy oversees the Center’s fundraising and communications, serves on its Racial Equity Committee, and addresses strategy, governance, and community relations. Previously she held leadership roles with numerous nonprofit organizations including the American Jewish Committee, where she worked to advance racial justice through grassroots coalition-building in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. During COVID, Nancy can be found working from home, being grateful for bonus time with Noa, and taking long walks with their dog, Becket.

Olivia Giorlandino Olivia Giorlandino (known widely as Olivia G) comes to the IDEA working group after being a Chimney Corners camper from 2007-2010, an ICEP 2011 participant, Constellaide of 2012, and then on staff from 2013-2019. Her most recent position at Chimney was as Aides Director in 2019. Moving through camp's employment pipeline and working in various departmental roles gave her a well rounded look at Chimney's current culture and day to day processes, and she's excited to use that knowledge to help improve BCCYMCA's inclusion and anti-racism practices. Over this past summer, Olivia G contributed to and helped organize the creation of the "Open Letter to BCCYMCA." She currently lives in Jamaica Plain, MA and works as a Tour Production Manager EF Education First in Cambridge, MA.

Reeshemah Brightley Reeshemah Brightley is an Entrepreneur, Consultant, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategist (DEI), and Educator. She was involved in helping to create The Harlem Playspace and Learning Center, the first Playspace in Harlem for families with newborns to three year olds. She has a Baccalaureate of Arts degree in Spanish & Hispanic Studies from Hobart & William Smith Colleges, and a Masters of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education.

She is currently an early childhood consultant focused on supporting families with infants and toddlers. As Vice President of Operations of Sabree Education Services, a subsidiary of her event planning company, Sabree Special Events, LLC, training childcare providers who service families with infants and toddlers with a focus on historically underrepresented families. We co-facilitate classes for parents with their infants/toddlers and plan family oriented events.

She is the co-founder and CEO of Urban Kids Journeys, a non profit organization providing experiences for families with the focus of brain development and the power of play to historically underrepresented families.

She is thrilled to be able to do now what she has always loved: Working with youth, from very young children to college age young adults.

Savi Tuber Savi Tuber (he/him/his) is a Middle School Dean at the Ethical Culture Fieldston School in New York City. In addition to his work at Fieldston, he works as a consultant for the Glasgow Group, a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion consulting service. Prior to working at Fieldston, Savi was a Middle School dean and history teacher at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, Maryland. He has helped develop curriculum and worked on faculty for numerous conferences and workshops include the (Re)Defining Power Conference, Diversity in the DMV, the National Diversity Practitioners Institute (NDPI), and the Student Diversity Leadership Conference (SDLC), where he served as the White Affinity group captain for multiple years. Savi graduated from Boston College with a B.A. in Secondary Education and a M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction.

Stephanie Donohue Steph Donohue was a CCC camper in the 90s, a TLS '99 participant, a Yippi-Ai-Aide of 2000, a CCC staffer between 2001-2006 (Intermediate unit, assistant waterfront director, aides director, staff development director), and co-lead ICEP in 2011. She was an alumni council member between 2007-2015, serving as the council president between 2012-2014. Steph uses female pronouns and identifies as white. Her ancestors immigrated to the USA primarily from Ireland, Italy, and Mexico; Spanish spoken in her childhood home (but she's the only sibling who speaks it, and is quite rusty now!). She and her husband Naveen (a Indian-American man) live in the Greater Boston area, where Steph works as the library and archives director at the Dana Hall School. Steph is especially interested in learning more about how to improve financial aid packages, in supporting, recruiting and retaining more BIPOC/LGBTQ/multi/biracial families, campers, and staff members, and in improving training for staff members.

Sydney Cameron Sydney Cameron has been part of the BCCYMCA community since 2011. She has always been interested in anti-racism work at camp since her time as a counselor at Chimney Corners. Over the summer, Sydney worked with Mamou Samaké and Nyasha Franklin organizing the first events around anti-racism work at BCCYMCA for camp members of color. These events worked to center BIPOC voices in the anti- racism conversation and ultimately began a larger dialogue within the camp community. Sydney is currently a senior at Occidental College majoring in Sociology. Additionally, she works at a music management company in Los Angeles focusing on social impact, combining her love of music and social justice.

Valerie Purdie Greenaway

Alysa Austin (Co-Chair) Alysa Austin is the Executive Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at BCCYMCA. Alysa started in this role in 2019 while she also served as the Director of Travel and Service Programs. Since mid-2020, DEI has become her primary focus. Alysa holds a BA in Experiential Education and an MSM in Organizational Leadership. Alysa is a firm believer that diversity is strength, “by improving access and equity, I believe that BCCYMCA will be better and stronger,” says Alysa. She takes a humble approach to this work, and actively seeks to understand the responsibility she holds as a white person in this role. In approaching this work, she says, “I see myself as responsible for driving the process of this work, I will not be the source of all ideas.” Rather, she sees herself as coordinator and facilitator whose role is to develop organizational capacity for deep listening, facilitating safe spaces for conversation, and moving the work forward.

Tucker Schuldt (Co-Chair) Tucker Schuldt is currently an independent consultant after retiring in 2018 from a career in strategic planning. Upon his retirement, Tucker was Senior Vice President, Strategy & Planning for Sodexo’s Global Healthcare Services business operating in 34 countries. Prior to this role, he was responsible for strategic planning for Sodexo’s $9.5B revenue North American business. His previous roles included the top strategic planning role for Sodexo’s North America Healthcare Services business and a variety of human resources leadership roles for Marriott International including a Vice President, Human Resources role for one of Marriott’s business units. Tucker holds a BA in economics from Denison University. His Becket-Chimney corners experience includes being a camper, ICEP participant, Aide and staff member through the ‘70’s and member of the Alumni Council. Tucker joined the Board of Trustees in 2015, is currently Vice Chair of the Board and will become Chair of the Board in late 2022. Both of his daughters were Chimney campers, TSP participants and TSP leaders. He lives with his wife in Granby, CT just a one hour drive from Camp.
