THE GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY, Washington, D.C. 2013- Present Principal Research Assistant, Dr. Rebecca Dedmond, Director of Master of Arts in School Counseling Program Project: “Evaluating the Implementation and Outcome of the Freshman Transition Initiative Course” • Aided in the design of the second phase of a study that measures the effect of the Freshman Transition Initiative Course on the retention rate of incoming high school freshmen • Conducted phone interviews and transcribed data for participants from two sites and coordinated the efforts of two other research assistants who were interview and transcribing participant data from the other two sites • Coordinated the study by ensuring the efficient and thorough collection, transcription and qualitative analysis of the data and will lead the team in creating the formal written study to prepare it for publication

THE GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY, Washington, D.C. 2011-2013 Research Assistant, Dr. Monica Megivern, Director of the GWU Community Counseling Service Center Project: Evaluating the effectiveness of treatment outcomes in the GWU CCSC • Collaborated with Dr. Monica Megivern and a team of doctoral students to design a study aimed at identifying the effectiveness of treatment at the GWU CCSC • Assisted in the implementation of the protocol for the study, the collection of data, and the quantitative statistical analysis of the data • Contribute to the composure and publication of the formal written study

Research Assistant, Dr. Samuel Steen, Assistant Professor of Counseling 2011-2012 Project: “Gauging the racial climate at Dominion High School” • Assisted Dr. Samuel Steen, using pilot data gathered by the school, in carefully composing interview questions designed to elicit information on significant racial themes in order to get a deeper understanding of major issues related to racism which emerged from the initial survey • Provided support for the facilitation of four focus groups (a total of fifty participants), collecting the data, and transcribing the 45 to 90-minute focus group interviews MINA E. • Completed an initial thematic analysis of the emergent themes which were cross-referenced with the principal investigator to complete the qualitative analysis phase • Contributed to an informal in-house publication of study for the school administration and may result in a poster or conference presentation in the near future

ST. BARTHOLOMEW’S HOSPITAL, London, UK 2011 Research Assistant, Dr. Reza Nouraei Project: “How do people’s perception of various traits vary according to facial symmetry?” • Collected data on 320 patient photos using a customized data collection system that consisted of a mathematical plot superimposed over a participants face before and after a rhinoplasty • Analyzed data in order to ascertain whether or not the perception of various personality traits is altered according to the change in the visual physical appearance of the participant’s face from the rhinoplasty • Collaborate on a formal study of the results to be published in national or international journal

CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY, Cambridge, UK 2007 Research Apprentice, Dr. Roger Carpenter, Director of the Department of Neurophysiology • Engaged in an extensive background literature review and composed a research protocol for a study aimed at identifying the existence of whether or not imaginary visual cues prompted by varying test stimuli caused participants to have a propensity for certain observation patterns • Mathematically designed the protocol for testing oculomotor behavior according to test stimuli using a customized computer program and measurement device designed by Dr. Roger Carpenter that tracks the saccadic latency of a participant • Resulted in an informal report on the confirmation of the null hypothesis of the study
