Through 38 years of Division I athletics, The Summit League off ers 19 championship sports and has a combined enrollment of around 98,000 at nine institutions, including four located in top 60 U.S. metropolitan populations and two land-grant universities. Member institutions include: the University of , Universityof Missouri-Kansas City, University of North Dakota, North Dakota State University, University of Nebraska Omaha, , University of South Dakota, South Dakota State University and Western University. The Summit League was previously known as the Mid-Continent Conference before undergoing a rebrand in 2007.
