(bl Type of explosive to be used:

The basalt is but highly jointed and fractured so occasional light blasting is required. Nitrate mixture of class2, detonators and safety fuse will be used for carrying out blasting operations. It is proposed to carry out blasting operation on contract basis by blasting contractor.

(c I Storage of Explosive:

It is proposed to carry out blasting operation on contract basis by blasting Contractor having explosive license from explosive department. No need of Storage of explosive at mine site.

5.4 Mine Drainage Observation of wells/ tube wells indicate that water table in the area is about 35m. In the first five year the mining will be confined above the water table hence water is not likely to encounter. Garland drain will be made at periphery. There will not be inflow of ground within mining pit except accumulation of rain water. So there is no need to make such arrangement except during rainy season. Rain water will be pumped using 5HP Diesel/ Electric pump and will be discharged local draining channel/agricultural land after passing through settling tank so that surrounding is not cohtaminated. 5.5 Stacking of mineral & disposal of waste- The stone of this mine is covered with overburden (top soil and weathered basalt) having average 1.5 meter thickness, on scrapping of overburden about 782lcubic meter waste will be generated in the form of soil and OB. In mining about 57o fine is likely to be generated as mine waste. Quantity of mine waste in five year mining plan period is estimated to be 3373m3.

Top soil will be spread over in the buffef zone. It will be used for plantation as per the proposal as shown in the mine closer Plan. Mine waste will be stacked in the dumping place of the lease area with proper stepping and flow less than 450 so that it does not role down.

5.6 Mine Safety: This is an open cast manual/ semi rnechanized mining. Depth of mining in second five year is expected to be 18m. To avoid collapse of mine face due care will be taken. Mining is proposed exceeding 6.Om depth. Bench will be developed from 6m depth onward having 6m height and 6m width. Slope of mine face will be maintained around 450 to avoid abrupt rolling of stones/ loose material. First aid box will be kept at the mine site.

Lessee will also intimate the concern authority as soon as depth of mine crosses 6.0m. Blasting operation will be done on contract basis from blasting Contractor having explosive license from explosive department.

MANAGEMENT PLAN

Details of estimated quantity of waste is in given development and production programme. Soil will be used in barriet zone during plantation. Mine waste will be stacked properly for future alterative use like repair of village road if required and permitted to do so, and for reclamation. There will not be environmental loss due to mine waste.

(if Reclamation

Except plantation in barrier zone no progressive mine closer is proposed. At the end of mine life waste material staked in dumping site will be back frlled but it will cover very limited part of pit. The side of excavated pit will be made safe by giving it a slope of 450. It will also be properly fenced with barbet wire or protection wall. Mine pit will be used as water reservoir. This may be used for irrigation and it will also recharge the ground water regime of the area. (iif Flora and fauna:

The proposed lease area does not come under the purview of forest. It is a private land and devoid of flora and fauna. There will not major change in the present status. It is proposed to implant 50 No. of tree annually. This will improve the flora in the area. This will also provide shelter for living birds and small animals.

(iiif Quality of air, noise level and Water

Mining is manual and semi mechanized type. There will not be much emission of dust and sound generation during mining. Dust may spread over one km kachha road. To prevent this overloading of dumpers during transportation will not be allowed. Water sprinkling will be done to suppress the dust on service road mining face and around crushing plant, specially, at the dump hoper used for feeding. Development of green belt along the mining area boundary will further protect pollution. Machinery used in mining operation will be properly maintained and speed of transporting vehicles will be restricted to prevent sound pollution. Blasting will be avoid during high winds, night times. In the lease area mining activity will be confrned up to 18m from the ground level whereas water table is observed around 35m. Basalt is

S. B. Singh RQP/DGMMP /rrB/2Ot4 MINING PLAN FOR BARAI STONE ICRUSHE hard stone and do not have significant chemical reaction with water. Mining is above the water table. Thus groundwater will not be polluted due to mining. There is no water flow from mine area. Even then precaution will be taken for uncontrolled run of water during monsoon. Garland will be constructed around mine and the dump area to divert rain water. water stored during rains will be passed through settling tank before discharge. It will prevent contamination in surface water. To assess the prevailing quality of the air, water, noise etc. a regular monitoring of these parameters will be made to arrive improvement /protection measures in quarterly basis.

(ivl Human settlement: socio- Economic Environment:

No villages or human dwelling are within the Mining lease area (core zonel. Thus any settlement will not be required. At present, there is not much activities noticed other than few mines and agricultural in the surrounding area. On the other hand, due to these mining activities an additional employment potential will be generated by which living condition of the people will certainly be improved. Hence there will be a positive impact on the social life of local people.

Proposed annual budget towards environment management is as follows:

Pollution Mitigation Rs 50000 Monitoring Program Rs 40000 Total Rs 90000

Proposed action plan toward socio economic development of local people and area is following

General Development Proposed expenditure in Rs Promotion of Swatch Bharat Abhiyan 10000 (Sanation, Water suPPlY etc) Health safety and medical facility 5000 Education Promotion 20000 Others 5000 Total 40000

(vf Public Building, Places and Monuments: There is no public building, monument close to lease area.

(vil Occupational Health and Safety: Due to small scale mining activity and less deployment of heavy machinery there will not be any operational hazards. Apart from this no other factors are envisaged during mining operation.

(viif Aesthetic Environment: The mining activity in the applied area has been and will be started after the environment clearance. So that mining activity does not violate the aesthetic sense of environment.

The area is also devoid of good flora and fauna. The socio-economic status of the surrounding villages is rural with dominant agricultural economy. The surrounding area is thinly populated. There will not be adverse impact due to this mining operation on socio-economic environment, It is proposed to implant 50 No. of tree annually. This will improve the flora in the area. Thus it will improve the socio- economic condition of peoples of the surrounding villages. #,*L ---'-- S" ts" S!NGH RQP/DGM/tvl f'l1 1 B I 2A 1 4
