WORLD TOURISM DAY CELEBRATIOS

Haryana Tourism is all set to lend some colour to the World Tourism Day that falls on 27 th September by organising a series of activities on this occasion.

To mark the World Tourism Day, Smt. Sumita Misra, Managing Director, Haryana Tourism Corporation, announced that 10% discount on food as well as accommodation would be offered to the guests visiting the Tourist Complexes of Haryana Tourism from 26 th September to 28 th September.

Smt. Misra further added that as a part of the World Tourism Day celebrations, Tourist Complexes will be decked up with welcome banners, different competitions for students will be organised and candy bags will be distributed among children on 27 th September (Saturday).

Haryana Tourism, a trailblazer in highway tourism, has currently got a network of 42 Tourist Complexes equipped with 807 comfortable air- conditioned rooms, multi-cuisine restaurants, well-stocked bars, state-of-the-art Convention Centres and facilities like banquet, conference and multipurpose halls. Haryana Tourism has further diversified and broadened the concept of tourism by focusing on farm, golf, heritage, adventure and MICE tourism.

Haryana Tourism has been continuously making efforts to set up top-class hospitality institutes to provide trained manpower and enhance employment opportunities. It has established state-of-the-art Institutes of Hotel Management (IHMs) at , , and and is establishing another IMH at Village Bhamboli, district Yamunanagar. Hunar Se Rozgar Tak programme, a novel initiative of the Union Ministry of Tourism to create employable skills has been implemented through the four SIHMs and 14 Tourist Complexes of Haryana Tourism. In the year 2013-14, 995 and 760 candidates through SIHMs and Tourist Complexes respectively have been imparted training under Hunar Se Rozgar Tak. While the targets have been fixed for training 1162 students through SIHMs and 1615 students through Tourist Complexes of Haryana Tourism for the year 2014-15.

Haryana Tourism had always been proactive in creating Convention Centres to cater to the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions (MICE) segment. It has set up Convention Centres at Hotel Rajhans, , Faridabad; Tilyar Lake, Rohtak and Red Bishop Tourist Complex in .

Haryana has become a land of Fairs and Festivals ever since Haryana Tourism started successfully organizing annual spectacles like Surajkund International Crafts Mela at Faridabad and Baisakhi Mela, Mango Mela and Heritage Festival at the .

Many unique initiatives have been undertaken by Haryana Tourism, which are coming up soon, like the Light and Sound show at Tilyar Lake, Rohtak, modern state-of the art hotel at and Convention Centre at Hissar. Many new projects are also being set up under Public Private Partnership mode like Amusement Park at Tilyar Lake, Rohtak; Damdama Adventure Camp, Damdama, Gurgaon; Kaziana Wellness Resort and Spa at Mallah near Pinjore, Panchkula and Nature Camp at Surajkund.
