3 Mouthpieces
Plastic-Compound Our beris mouthpieces are made of a food safe plastic compound with a surface refinement unequalled so far in the range of plastic bits. The surface is very smooth and they slide easily in the mouth, even if the horse doesn´t salivate that much. The “eraser like effect” known of rubber bits will not occur with our mouthpieces! Horses accept them very well and will often be encouraged to chew and salivate more.
Eggbut Bit 120, 130 und 140 mm / soft, medium and hard
The form of the mouthpiece as well as the soft transition to the rings prevents pinching and the bit sets still in the horse‘s mouth. It´s sui- table for most of the horses.
Eggbutt Jointed 125, 135 und 145 mm / medium
The Jointed Bit will put more pressure on the jaws and on the sides of the tongue. Within appropriate use a single joint in the bit will disturb the blood flow in the tongue not substantially. Our single jointed Eggbut Snaffle is made of a medium flexible, food safe plastic compound.
To soften the pressure on the jaw we designed an extra flexible zone at the side of the mouthpiece. Due to shape and the angulation of the joint it will rest evenly on the tongue.
Comfort Bit 120, 130 und 140 mm / soft and hard
This anatomically correct bit rests equally on tongue and bars and of- fers more room and mobility for the tongue. With this bit the pulled rein will apply pressure evenly on tongue and bars. A lateral squeezing of tongue and bars will not happen. Also a pinching of the lips will be im- possible by using bit guards. The Comfort Bar lies thanks to it`s shape very still in the horses‘ mouth.
Mullen Mouth bits are considered to be fairly mild which enables the rider to communicate with his horse in a more gentle and delicate way. The soft Comfort Bit is ideal for young and sensitive horses.
4 Mouthpieces
Comfort Bit thin 100, 110, 120 and 130 mm / soft and hard
Similar in shape with the Comfort Bar, just the diameter is with 15 mm a lot thinner. This recommends the bit for ponies and horses with non spacious mouthes. Very successful is the usage as a Weymouth Bit for horses that cannot take a thick Weymouth and a Bradoon Bit.
Tale & Krümel The ponybits will be delivered with the appropriate size of cheeks.
Tongue Port Bit 120, 130 und 140 mm / soft and hard
The Tongue Port Snaffle gives the horse‘s tongue enough room because of the flattened area on the port. Many horses react to this with more relaxation and chewing. Therefore this bit is perfect for horses that won’t tolerate pressure on the tongue and for those who tend to stick their tongue above the bit. The KONNEX-Bit is to be understood as the deliberate summary of positive characteristics of our proven Tongue Part and our Butterfly Bit. The bit itself is slimmer, it positions itself very comfortable in the horse’s mouth. Also in the KONNEX-Bit the proved beris Tongue Port offers generous space to the sensitive tongue muscle. Additionally here the bit widens itself in area of the port. That means to spread the pressure of the rein on a greater area of the tongue, the tongue will be protected from too much pressure on a small area.
Suitable is the KONNEX-Bit for horses with little space in their mouth, e.g. thoroughbred type horses, or older horses (due to the dental changes), horses with large-scale tongues and especially the ones who do not tole- rate too much pressure on the tongue. Height of the Tongue Port 30 mm

Our Butterfly Bit Snaffle is an absolute innovation in regard of mouth- pieces. The anatomically correct form in combination with a broader surface in the tongue area offers this sensitive muscle the optimal amount of room space with a very soft influence at the same time.
Horses show their wellbeing with more chewing activity and an incre- ased acceptance of the bit. If a stronger effect of the horse‘s mouth is necessary a leverage acting cheek may be helpful. beris PRIME 120, 130 und 140 mm / supersoft beris PRIME sets new standards in communication between horse and rider. Due to the anatomical shape of the extreme soft mouthpiece the pressure is equally spreaded on tongue and bars. The integrated oval bit guards with it´s carefully shaped passages to the centerpiece prevent pinching the horse‘s lips and grant lateral support.
Cleaning Instructions for plastic compound: The mouthpieces should be rinsed with clean water after every use.

Due to the anatomical shape of the extreme soft mouthpiece the pressure is equally spread on tongue and bars. The integrated oval bit guards with it‘s carefully shaped passages to the centrepiece prevent pin- ching the horses’ lips and grant lateral support. Our premium mouthpiece beris PRIME is made of a food safe plastic compound with a surface refinement unequalled so far in the range of plastic bits. The cho- sen plastic compound is made of a super soft material, increasing chewing activity and more salivation. Therefore the „Eraser like effect“ will not occur with our beris PRIME. Even if the horse doesn’t salivate that much this bit slides easily in the mouth because of its refined surface. To be on the safe side we added an inlay of steel inside the super soft material of the beris PRIME. The stainless steel cheeks are made with the most significant artisan knowledge and finally fitted precisely to their sockets
8 Mouthpieces
Leather Horses do accept leather bits very well. Virtually every horse likes the feeling of leather in its mouth and reacts with increased chewing activity and more salivation. The more salivation, the better slides the bit in the mouth what means an increased well being of your horse. Our mouthpieces are tanned vegetable and stitched by hand.
Leather Bit 120, 130 und 140 mm / soft and hard
Leather Bits slides easily in the mouth what means an increased well being of your horse. The anatomical shape of the mouthpiece adjusts when wet even more perfect to the anatomy of the horses‘ mouth.
Extremely well suited is our leather mouthpiece for young and highly sensitive horses, disliking all other materials. Even horses that generally dislike bits in their mouth often accept this material and can learn to trust the hand of a gentle rider again.
Care instructions for leather: Prior to the first use the mouthpiece should be soaked thoroughly in cooking oil. Please repeat since the leather seems dry. Prior to every use the mouthpieces should be soaked briefly in cold water and rinsed after use because saliva can erode the leather quickly.
Due to the Material Mouthpieces made of a plastic compound or leather are contrary to those made of metal significantly softer and weigh a lot less. This is what most horses love about these bits. But the horses´ teeth are considerably harder than any plastic compound or leather and can shorten the lifespan of a mouthpiece made of these materials. If the bit is correctly placed in the dental free area between the Incisors and Molars (Diastema), a damage done to the mouthpiece is quite unlikely, but caused by sharp edged-teeth not impossible. For these reasons we cannot offer any warranty for damages due to bite marks or incorrect placement of the bit.
9 beris IRON + beris BLACK
beris IRON bits are made exclusively of high quality stainless steel. beris BLACK is made of stainless steel and sweet iron. The surface of a beris IRON bit is extremely smooth and slides very gentle in the horse´s mouth. The sweet iron parts of a beris BLACK bit are prone to rust. Horses like the taste of the sweet iron, it encourages more salivation and chewing. Mouthpiece and cheeks of a beris BLACK or IRON bit are linked elegantly in a eggbutt shaped socket. Precisely fitted loose rings slide without resistance in the sockets. For adjusting other sides to the mouthpiece we integrated the eggbutt shaped socket in a carefully designed transition. Pinching the lips becomes impossible!
The profile of the theberis IRON and beris BLACK series are ovaly shaped to occupy only the really needed space in the horse´s mouth. Additionally the mouthpiece lies broadly on jaws and tongue to distribute the pressure. To achieve the broad based contact between bit and mouth we installed the socket slightly rotated.

The Loose Ring is meant for horses who prefer this “mobility“ and offers you the opportunity to choose additionally the best matching mouthpiece. The ring of the plastic and leather mouthpieces runs smoothly in its copper sockets and this increases the lifespan of the bit substantially.

The form of the mouthpiece as well as the soft transition to the rings prevents pinching and the bit rests stable in the horse‘s mouth. With its form and different available ring sizes this bit is well suited for young horses. The smaller the rings, the faster and more direct is the rider‘s influence. The bigger the rings, the softer the influence. With different degrees of hardness of the mouthpiece available this bit can be used with almost any horse.

18 3-Ring-Bit
Combines eteral restriction, leverage and pull open effect in one bit. The level of control depends on the ring the rein will be attached to. Using the large ring the effect will be similar to a loose ring or an regular eggbutt. The lower ring has a mild leverage effect. The 3-ring bit is often used to test the horse‘s reaction to leverage.

The Filet places itself perfectly in the mouth. When a contact is taken the upper arm is angled forwards causing the mouthpiece to lift - thereby suspending it in the mouth and reducing the pressure across the tongue and the bars of the mouth. This is often beneficial for cases of over sensitivity. If the horse is going forward into a contact and active behind this will encourage a rounding action and help tremendously with the outline.

In cooperation with Karl-Friedrich von Holleuffer, FN driving instructor and well known expert of horse bits, we developed a bit for the special needs of lunged horses. The cheeks of our gentle bit provide perfect lateral guidance with a centrally fixed mouthpiece. Additionally we added eyelets to minimize the pressure on the neck.
The Longe will be attached to a separate ring of the cheek, the common jam up of the ring is not possible anymore!
