TROPHY OF NATIONS The Finale EWS replaces the Trophy of Nations team race. D etails The amateur race (R ider Trophy - Solo and Teams) was not impacted by the schedule changes and is still planned to go ahead on Saturday 26 September There will be no EWS100 / EWS80 races in Finale. Riders without the necessary qualification points can race the Rider Trophy instead.
TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS International racers may be subject to entry restrictions and quarantine requirements. Refer to the Italian government website M inistero degli Affari Esteri for details.
Additionally, international racers may also be subject to restrictions upon return to their home country following the Zermatt race. Check with your own national authorities for applicable policies
COVID SAFETY PROTOCOLS All events will be closed course with no public attendance due to COVID restrictions and to make sure all riders and staff can operate safely. Detailed Protocols document outlining essential guidelines designed to minimize the risk of transmission of COVID-19 among participants in the Finale EWS published on event page.
RACE LICENCES REQUIREMENTS Foreign racers in the Rider Trophy race should review the l icense section for the unique license requirements established by the Italian Cycling Federation

RIDER TROPHY TEAMS: 384.75 GBP (total per team). Full amount payable by team captain at time of entry.
RIDER TROPHY SOLO: 128.25 GBP per rider
Entry fee includes 1 day race, 1 day of closed course marshalled training, full course medical coverage on training and race day, live timing, backup timing. CANCELLATION POLICY Registration fees are refundable (less an administrative fee) up to 3 weeks prior to the race. Cancellation request must be sent to a [email protected] by 23:59 GMT September 4. Entries are no longer refundable after September 5. Registrations are not transferable.
Rider Trophy Team rider substitutions can be made up until the week in advance of the race (deadline 23:59 GMT Sunday September 20).

RA CE LICENSE Rider Trophy race is sanctioned by the Italian Cycling Federation FCI. Racers will either need a race license issued by their own national federation – or unlicensed racers will also have the option to purchase a one event license at the onsite checkin. Details / requirements below.
RACE LICENSE Foreign racers will need a UCI license issued by their own national cycling federation. DAY LICENSE As another option, unlicensed riders in the Rider Trophy can purchase a one event license from the Italian Cycling Federation at the onsite check-in. Cost 15EUR per day. Separate licenses needed for
training and race days.
NOTICE In order to purchase a day license, riders must present a medical certificate , i ssued within the previous 12 months by an Italian doctor, certifying fitness for competitive sports. No other certificates will be accepted by the Italian Cycling Federation. There is only one facility in Finale Ligure which can issue medical certificates. Limited hours, appointment necessary. INSURANCE All costs of transportation from the venue during training / race days to a medical facility are covered by the Italian National Medical Assistance. FCI insurance covers medical costs associated with injuries occurring during training or race. Racers are not covered for any injuries occurring outside of official training or race times, any specialized medical transfers from Italy to their home country or for any extended medical / rehabilitation treatment. The event insurance is therefore is not a replacement for a racer’s own personal travel / medical insurance.

Race Package will include plate (must be on bike for training and race) plus bike marking stickers and jersey number. Stickers and jersey numbers only needed for the race day.
RaceLabs reusable and recycled race plates will be introduced at the Enduro World Series in 2020. Optional for Rider Trophy racers. You will be able to collect the plate (and name / number decals) at the Race Office in Finale.
Altering, cutting, or placing of unauthorized stickers or sponsor logos on race plate is not permitted.
To collect the package on behalf of another racer, a copy of the racer’s identification and race license or medical certificate (as applicable) is required.

TRAINING Once the course is announced September 20, all race stages will be closed for riding until training.
Race stages are closed during official training to all but racers, accredited media and official EWS Team staff. All riders on course during practice must have plates on their bikes. Any rider training without a plate or outside the official schedule will be disqualified.
Racer will be limited to 1 training run on each race stage. To manage congestion on the tracks during training, there will be separate training times for Rider Trophy and EWS racers. Refer to schedule for details.

Safety Protocol: riders stopping on track to check lines or pushing up to session sections must do so from outside the tape.
UPLIFTS Shuttling permitted on sealed, public roads during training.
Public shuttle bookings available. 2 uplift package s cheduled at following times - 8.00 and 12.30 - 9.00 and 13.30 - 10.00 and 14.30

Shuttle service offered by Finale Outdoor region is the only authorized public commercial shuttle service for the Finale EWS training.
Team or private shuttles permitted.
TIMING CHIPS Timing system: SPORTident AIR+ system
Timing stickers and timing chips will be issued at the start on the morning of the race day. Racers should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their start time to collect the chips.
Each rider will be issued two transponders (the second unit provides backup in case of loss or a crash). One transponder should be worn on each wrist.
Timing chips will be collected in the finish area of the race. Racers who withdraw or do not complete the race should return the chips to the timing tent in the finish. Lost or damaged chips will be assessed a 100 GBP replacement fee. BIKE M ARKING
Racers must use the same bike (frame, fork and wheels) for the race. If one of these parts break (frame, fork, rear swingarm and wheels), riders have to report it to the race director. In the case of a replacement of a part or the entire bike, a 3-minute penalty will be given if the rider reports it to the race director (with the penalty assigned to the Stage when the replacement is made). If not reported, the rider will be disqualified.
Official event bike marking stickers (5 total) will be included in the race packages.
Stickers need to be applied to the top tube of the frame, right side of the rear swing arm, right crown of the front forks and each wheel rim. Do not affix the stickers until the race day. Racers who lose their bike marking stickers prior to the race start may be assessed a time penalty.

FEED Z ONES Due to COVID-19 Safety Protocols, Feed Zone will not be offered. Racers will be permitted to leave food and supplies in the Technical Assistance Zone. Location of public water fountains will be identified on course map. TECHNICAL ASSIST ANCE Z ONE Outside assistance is permitted in the Rider Trophy.

START ORDER and SEEDING Rider Trophy uses a fastest first format. Once racers leave the start, they are not required to remain in the original start positions for the balance of the stages.

Each racer / team will have an individual assigned time to leave the start. Once racers leave the start, the racers will need to complete the balance of the stages in order, but they will not have preassigned individual start times or fixed start intervals for any of the following race stages.
Rather, Rider Trophy riders will have a specific time period to complete each individual stages as well as an overall time to complete the course each day. Maximum course time and opening / closing times for the race stages will be published on Friday September 25.

If a rider does not complete the course within their final time check, they will have a penalty added to their overall time.
Late racers will be given the following penalties: up to 5 minutes late = 1 minute penalty. 5+ minutes late = 5 minutes penalty
GENERAL If a racer is delayed reaching a stage start or the finish time check as a result of assisting an injured rider or due to some other exceptional circumstances beyond the racer’s control, the time penalty may be waived and / or the racer may be permitted to repeat the stage. Any racer affected by a 'significant incident' during a transition or race stage should immediately report to the finish or start official of the affected stage (as applicable).
The Race Director has the final right to change start times during the race in case of any unforeseen circumstances.
ALLOCATED LIAISON TIMES The allocated times for each stage/transition will be published with the course maps on Sunday September 20. AWARDS 19:00, location to be confirmed. Separate podiums for the Rider Trophy Solo and Rider Trophy Team Top 3 from each rider category and top 3 teams.
All racers will be included in the Rider Trophy Solo race results. There will also be a separate podium for riders signed up on a Rider Trophy team. Results for the team will be based on a combined total of all 3 riders.
In accordance with COVID safety protocols, only racers, accredited media, and event staff will be permitted at the awards. RANKING POIN TS No EWS Global Ranking points will be attributed for the Rider Trophy race.

The Race Director is authorized to give additional penalties that are not listed in the EWS Rules in the case of a rider who fails to respect the other riders, the spirit of the sport, the environment or the organization. Protests and complaints regarding the race, results, behaviour of the other racers and any other sort of issue must be presented to the Race Director or Chief Commissaire within 15 minutes from the posting of the results. PROTECTION RULES Full face helmet, knee pads, gloves and back protector mandatory on race stages during training and race. Helmets with a removable chin piece are acceptable. Open face helmets may be worn on liaisons. A backpack can replace the back protector if it includes CE certified back protection. The rules apply to both training and race days. ONBOARD CAMERAS On board cameras must either be worn on peak / visors or affixed with a breakable mount. C hest mounts are not permitted.

CONCUSSION PRO TOCOL Any EWS racer who fails a concussion assessment by a qualified medical practitioner, during that event, will be removed from the current practice session or race and will be prohibited from further participation in any EWS or practice session or race until cleared in writing by a medical doctor to resume such activity. Should a concussion be confirmed by a medical doctor, the athlete is responsible for completing a ‘graduated return to activity’ plan.
