Update for Nipissing District Children’s Service Planning Table, October 2007
This report provides a snapshot of the Childrens population in Nipissing District, based upon the 2006 census data. This information is intended to support DNSSAB Staff and the Nipissing District Children’s Service Planning Table, in the planning and delivery of children’s services within Nipissing District.
Notes:
- The source of data is Statistics Canada, census 2001, 2006; Age and Sex for Population for Canada, Provinces, Territories, Census Divisions and Census Subdivisions, 2001 & 2006. - Data for Nipissing, Unorganized South and Temagami First Nation (Bear Island) is not available. - Numbers in columns and rows may not add up to 100 due to census rounding. - For the purpose of this report, the children’s age group is defined as being between the ages of 0-12. This population is further divided into the following program areas and ages (note: these ages do not correspond directly with those used by the Ministry of Children & Youth Services as only single-year age data is available – the Ministry age definitions are also presented for clarification): Category Age MCYS-defined Age Infant: 0-1 0-17 mos. Toddler 2 18-30 mos. Preschool /JK: 3-4 30 mos. – 5yrs. SK: 5-6 5-6 School-age: 7-12 7-12
