Michael Parekowhai’s sculpture The Indefinite Article is the Gallery’s most recent acquisition. This is a major addition to our contemporary collection. The Indefinite Article holds an important place in the history of , and already has a significant exhibition history including the groundbreaking Headlands (MCA, Sydney - 1992). It was later selected for Flight Patterns (MOCA, Los Angeles - 2000) and the New Zealand tour of Jim Barr's and Mary Barr’s art collection.
