3* Langstone Cliff Hotel The hotel is set in 19 acres of lovely woodlands on the beautiful South coast of Devon. Located in the heart of Dawlish Warren, overlooking the Exe Estuary, boasting luscious lawns and well pruned gardens with magnificent sea views over the golden sandy beaches. The hotel has been owned and managed by the Rogers family since 1946 who have played host to countless guests. All rooms include ensuite bathroom with bath or shower, TV, telephone, hairdryer with tea/coffee making facilities. A lift serves most rooms. The Lincoln Restaurant serves breakfast and dinner with a Christmas festive menu on the final night’s stay, while the Lincoln Bar provides beers, spirits with an extensive wine list. The comfortable lounge, the drawing room and the Veranda room will all be decorated for this pre-Christmas break. Take pleasure in the winter gardens all with sweeping views of the coastline. The leisure facilities include an indoor swimming pool, a fitness room and table tennis all free to guests, a snooker room which costs £1.20 for 30 minutes to light the table. Monday 21st November We depart Nottingham area this morning and travel to Tiverton the largest town in mid Devon set on the River Exe. The imposing structure of the Parish Church dedicated to St Peter dates from the 15th Century and reflects the prosperity brought to the town by the wool trade. The town has some well-preserved old merchant houses and the remains of the castle stand on a cliff above the river. There is an historic Pannier Market selling local and artisan fresh produce and handmade craft items, a small but busy shopping centre with Gold Street described by many as the trendiest street in Devon. There are many restaurants, pubs and cafes for refreshments. This afternoon we continue to Dawlish Warren and the Langstone Cliff Hotel, on arrival we check into our rooms, unpack and relax before dinner this evening.

Tuesday 22nd November Today we visit Sidmouth a beautiful coastal town with a regency feel set in the middle of spectacular countryside and home to beautiful beaches. Enjoy a stroll along the esplanade and then relax in one of the many cafes and tea-rooms with a hot beverage. The town offers a great mix of independent shops and specialist shops where you can

find the perfect Christmas gifts from unique books, jewellery, toys, cards, collectables, antiques and exclusive clothing. This afternoon we call at the famous Donkey Sanctuary founded in 1969 by Elisabeth Svendsen and was registered as a charity in 1973. Svendsen was prompted to start the sanctuary following a visit to Exeter market when she saw seven small donkeys crammed into a small pen. This has altered the fate of incalculable numbers of donkeys around the world. This tranquil corner of Devon that hundreds of rescue donkeys call home are all waiting to meet you. There is a restaurant serving tempting afternoon treats and a gift shop where you will find donkey designed products on every shelf. We continue to Dawlish, a traditional seaside town, with a long sandy beach on its doorstep and lots of interesting shops, cafes and tearooms. A brook runs through the centre of a wide-open green, known as the Lawn, which is home to a range of birds as well as the famous black swans which can be seen swimming sedately along the brook.

Wednesday 23rd November After breakfast we travel to the ‘traditional British seaside’ resort, the vibrant and cheerful town of , set at the very heart of the English Riviera on the South Devon Coast. Famous for its sandy beaches, family attractions and genteel Victorian appearance, it was made famous by the legendary comedy series Fawlty Towers and has many restaurants and cafes which bring out the West Country flavour in a diverse range of cuisine from award winning fish and chips to internationally inspired gastronomy. is distinctly Mediterranean and is a family favourite with plenty of attractions and things to do. This afternoon we transfer you to the highly acclaimed Babbacombe Theatre for a matinee performance of their fabulous Christmas show.

Thursday 24th November This morning we travel to World of Country Life, it is not every day you can hand feed a Deer or Llama from the Land Train on the Deer Park Safari or walk a pygmy goat, but you can do all of this and more at the multi award-winning World of Country Life in Exmouth. You will never forget the amazing flying displays by Hawkridge Birds of Prey or take a walk back in time down memory lane and explore our Victorian street, call in at the Game Keeper’s Cottage, drop into the dress shop, stop off at the garage or pop into the pub - all featuring memorabilia from years gone by. The Hall of Transport houses one of the largest collections of vintage vehicles, motorcycles and steam engines in the South West including the Charabanc used in Downton Abbey and the Daimler featured in Mr Selfridge and Parade’s End! Take a break with refreshments in Farmer Lee’s Food Barn. This afternoon we travel to Exmouth a lively town, situated on the east coast of Devon where the River Exe meets the sea. We make our way to the Marina where we board a Stuart line winter cruise on the calm and sheltered waters of the River Exe. The festively decorated boats have covered and heated lower decks, with cosy blankets, plenty of fresh air and great views on our upper outside deck. You will have a warm welcome with a glass of proper homemade mulled wine and a tasty warm mince pie to enjoy whilst you sit back and take a breather from the busy Christmas season.

Friday 25th November We leave our Dawlish Warren hotel this morning and begin our journey home to the Nottingham area arriving early evening. Comfort and refreshment breaks will be made en route.
