2.7. MIGRATIONS PROGRAMME

Migration processes have become one of the factors which most influence the social, political and cultural transformation of our society. The transnational dimension, inherent in the nature of migrations, acquires special importance in the scenario of the European Union.

The Migrations Programme desires to contribute to the development of debate and research, placing special emphasis on the construction of a European immigration policy and the construction of a new citizenry of a European dimension. Likewise, it aims to foster participation in European Union debates on immigration, and extend the debates, proposals and practices in the European sphere to the Catalan and Spanish societies.

For this, the Programme has such activities as the Migrations Forum and the Annual Immigration and Europe Seminar, publications like its Migrations Working Documents, the appendices of the CIDOB International Yearbook and monographs in the dcidob and Afers Internacionals journals.
